December has been dry so far, but could Northern Nevada see another near-record winter like last year? Here's what weather forecasters are saying.

As expected, this latest atmospheric river has created major challenges for our resort, employees, and community – as a result we will be CLOSED tomorrow: Saturday, March 11. Mother Nature has thrown a lot our way this season, and the current storm cycle had dropped wet, heavy snow at higher elevations, and rain at lower elevations – as we anticipated. We are about to surpass 500 inches snow for the season tonight. 🤯 That’s certainly not a number we anticipated when we started this season...who knows where it will end up!

A big thanks to our team working around the clock on-site to maintain the mountain. It’s been exhausting keeping up with these storms and they’ve worked tirelessly all season. While Sunday’s forecast looks promising for operations, we have a lot of work to do before we can safely reopen – and we remain under a State of Emergency here in South Lake Tahoe. We’ll provide updates as our team continues to dig out as we work towards reopening. As a reminder, uphill access remains CLOSED.

Woohoo!!! Ski Season is officially open!!! We look forward to seeing you on the slopes :)

We are excited to announce that Saturday, December 11th is our opening day! Temperatures have been steadily dropping and our snowmakers have been working around the clock to prepare the resort for opening. We look forward to welcoming you back for another awesome season!

Live feed from our Nest camera in the front yard. All is quiet on Genoa Ave and Black Bart. Our cabin is dangerously close to the fire. Everyone in South Lake Tahoe is being evacuated. Thanks to all the firefighters who are tirelessly fighting this beast.
