Henry's Charters We specialize in all private tours. We offer bayfishing trips, dolphin excursions and sun set tours daily. we also offer land tours by shuttle bus.

Join us as they bring in the USS John F. Kennedy. Considered a supercarrier, she is a variant of the Kitty Hawk class and the last conventionally powered carrier built for the navy, the JFK was also know as the Big John , "Can Opener", "Jack the Tin Can Killer"). The ship will make its last voyage into the Port of Brownsville, where it will be laid to rest!
As of January 25th , the tug boat responsible of tow, it's just making its turn into the Gulf of Mexico passing Key West Florida. Eta February 2nd

Rare bird sighting.
Manx Shearwater Spotted near South Padre Island Texas Spotted during our fishing charter! I noticed a bird that wasn't common in our area and decided to snap some photos to review them later.
The Manx shearwater is a medium-sized shearwater in the seabird family Procellariidae. The scientific name of this species records a name shift: Manx shearwaters were called Manks puffins in the 17th century. Puffin is an Anglo-Norman word for the cured carcasses of nestling shearwaters.
Manx Shearwaters breed in roughly 50 colonies, these tending to be located on steep grassy slopes on offshore islands, mainly along the western coastlines of both Britain and Ireland. However, they are wide-ranging during the summer with foraging individuals seen throughout the coastlines of Britain and Ireland.
Hopefully he sticks around.

With the past rain, we had higher tides this week. This means you can get to places that were very shallow before. This big fat trout came in on popping cork with limited edition gulp. Reel and rod used was Florida Osprey 2500 with 15lb smooth casting power pro braid, Paired up with a waterloo phantom 6'9" medium-extra fast action. You can find this combo at Los Pescadores Coffee & Outfitters . Trout was released to see another day. Remember, peeps, the bigger the bait, the bigger the fish!

Join us for a SPRING MIGRATION TEXAS SOUTHFARI and enjoy the best of spring migration along the south texas coast! Enjoy this visually stunning time of year as thousands if not millions of colorful migratory birds arrive along the texas coastline as they cross the Gulf of Mexico coming from wintering sites in the tropics in Central and South America in route to northern breeding grounds! Our resident coastal birds are also brightening up as they acquire their beautiful breeding plumages! This last tour of the season is one not to be missed as we immerse into the spectacle of spring migration along the Laguna Madre!

We will set up a nice drinking and feeding area with seeds and oranges for the birds at the SPIBNC and I'm sure we will see some colorful migrants just for our group!

Today we were surprised to find out, we have a newborn swimming around. We named this little dolphin Porter after Porter the golden retriever on our tour!
More baby dolphins are expected to be born next month in March......

Cold stun 2024. Sea turtles become lethargic after suffering from hyperthermia in cold freezing weather in South Padre Island, Texas. They can possibly drown, wash up to shore, becoming food for predators, or getting stuck in between rocks and unable to free them selves. We did not think twice to head out on the boats and rescue our local atlantic green sea turtles, giving them a chance to see another day.
