Midcoast Maine is buzzing with exciting new developments in food and dining! Here are some highlights from Portland Food Map:

Saint George Pizza – Warren
Megs Senk and George Korsnick, formerly of Goods in Camden, have opened Saint George Pizza in Warren. Currently, the cozy pizzeria operates on Fridays (dine-in) and Saturdays (takeout), offering classic and special pizzas, salads, desserts, and a range of drinks. They aim to expand service soon, promising more pizza nights for the community.

Schooner Landing Restaurant and Marina – Damariscotta
After a fire destroyed the iconic Schooner Landing last fall, plans are underway for a revival. This summer, a food trailer will serve customers while a new restaurant is set to break ground in the fall.

Odd Alewives – Waldoboro
Odd Alewives is making a bold shift, focusing solely on their wood-fired pizzas and discontinuing brewery operations. Their decision reflects a commitment to maintaining balance while delivering a simplified yet high-quality experience.

The Place – Camden
The Place bakery continues to make waves, recently named one of the best bakeries in the U.S. by The New York Times. Their unique offerings are a must-try for foodies in the area.

New food and dining developments are taking place all across Maine. Here are some recent updates to keep you in the know: Saint George Pizza (instagram) opened this past week in Warren. Damariscotta has been named Maine’s most underrated town by Cheapism, a popular travel site. With a rich history, vibrant arts scene, breathtaking waterfront views, and world-famous Damariscotta oysters, it’s no wonder Damariscotta is gaining recognition.

This is fantastic publicity for a town renowned for its natural beauty and home to one of Maine’s most popular festivals.

Celebrate Primo Restaurants 25th season at the DIVA DINNER on Saturday, Nov 16th, featuring a roster of award-winning women chefs from across the country.

𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐉𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐬 - another of our accomplished guest chefs who is joining us for the upcoming 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐚 𝐃𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐧 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟔𝐭𝐡!

Jody is the recipient of the 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐟 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 (𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭); owner and 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐟 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐨; and co-creator/operator of the restaurants 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐃𝐄, 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐨, and 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐤𝐢 in Massachussetts.

For Chef Melissa Kelly, Jody was always the female chef and mentor that she looked up to as she forged her path into the culinary industry. Melissa remembers, “Jody was already there when I was coming up, and I always admired her style of simplicity at Rialto. Watching her - and her relationships to the farmers and fishermen - was so inspiring.” That relationship to her community, her local purveyors, is something Chef Kelly held dear, and carried with her into her dream of building Primo.

The 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐚 𝐃𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 was borne from the longtime friendships between Melissa, Nancy Silverton, Ilma Lopez, Jody Adams, Emily Luchetti, and Kathleen Blake at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, 30 years ago - when women chefs were still largely unrecognized and often marginalized. Each chef has since blossomed into breakthrough careers, with their visionary talents influencing new generations in this evolving industry.

There will be just one seating, starting at 6pm, and we are dedicating the entire Primo restaurant to this very special event. An exclusive Meet & Greet will kick off the evening at 4:30pm with cocktails and appetizers and a chance to meet each chef - each of whom will contribute a signature plate to the meal, for a total of five different courses. (And this year, chef Larry Forgione also joins us as honorary "Divo"!)

$100 | Meet & Greet
