If you plan to visit Machu Picchu in 2024, consider staying at the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge, which we include in our 10-day, 8-night Peru itinerary.

If you plan on taking a day trip from Cusco on your own, prepare for a 6-hour round trip, not counting the time you spend waiting in line for the bus.
