The Aberdeen Carolina & Western Railway has created such a unique experience. With three rooftop bars overlooking the Cradle, a covered bar area, an air-conditioned caboose, and an open patio with co****le boards, every detail has been thought out to provide the most amount of fun!

Engine Room 87 is open to the public with no cover charge: Wednesdays-Saturdays from 4:00-8:00pm and Sundays from 1:00-6:00pm. You can also rent Engine Room 87 for private or corporate parties.

Our CVB was recognized today with a special impact award at the inaugural Great Trails NC State Conference in Winston-Salem. 🎉

Our Pinecone Pathways Program was named as one of several programs statewide that had a significant impact on tourism by enhancing and highlighting Moore County’s trails and even providing life-changing health benefits for pinecone hunters - whether they found one or not!

Don’t forget that Great Trails State Day is Saturday, October 19. That's when we’ll hide 30 special “Crystal Cones” handmade by Seagrove potter Crystal King.

To celebrate Great Trails State Day in North Carolina, we partnered with Crystal King Pottery to create 30 pottery pinecones which will be hidden along select Moore County trails on Saturday, October 19.

These “Crystal Cones” are all handmade and created by Crystal King. Each pinecone will be individually stamped by King and dated for authenticity. On October 18, we'll announce the trails where the pinecones will be hidden so hunters can prepare for the hunt on Great Trails Day, October 19.

Each pottery pinecone will display a special tag with a QR code, so finders can register their pinecone and be eligible for a drawing to win a $250 gift card!

Come with us to downtown Pinehurst for Shakespeare in the Pines, an annual Shakespeare festival. Each summer, the Uprising Theatre Company produces a different Shakespeare play amidst the pines and under the stars at Tufts Memorial Park.

General admission is FREE and families are encouraged to attend. Be sure to bring a blanket or chairs for comfortable seating on the lawn. Or, you can purchase a VIP table, which comes with candles, wine, and charcuterie.

This year’s production is The Comedy of Errors, Shakespeare’s first comedy, with a Pinehurst twist.

Join Aberdeen Carolina & Western Railway's Engine Room 87 for a pop-up event on the tracks by Pinehurst Resort's The Cradle this Thursday from 3:00-8:00pm. The open-air locomotive bar will be open to the public, so come take a peek or enjoy some beer and wine.

Can't make it Thursday evening? No worries! Going forward, the tentative plan is for Engine Room 87 to be open Wednesdays-Sundays from 1:00pm-8:00pm, depending on demand.

In findings released by Visit North Carolina, visitor spending in Moore County surpassed $800 million in 2023, an increase of 7.4 percent from the previous year. We maintained our ranking as the tenth best tourism economy in the state. As the official destination marketing agency for the Home of American Golf, thank you to everyone who supports tourism in Moore County from our visitors to our local businesses who employ 6,000 people in the hospitality industry.

In 2023, Moore County witnessed an $805.1 million in economic impact from visitor spending, representing a 7.4 percent increase from the previous year.
