Earlier this month our host agency; held their annual summit where all advisors and global partners were welcomed to the beautiful in Fort Worth, Texas.

What’s really going on behind the scenes when you open up an online travel booking site and start searching for a hotel?

You’ll get a list of results, but here’s the thing, it may not actually be what’s best for you and your travel preferences.

So many booking sites prioritize profits, pushing trip suggestions based on the inventory they want to fill and suppliers who pay for premium placements.

It’s about what’s best for their bottom line, not necessarily what’s best for you and your travel plans.

What a great way to start our day! Take a peek on some highlights this couple shared with us on their recent getaway to Greece (Naxos, Paros, Santorini & Athens)

⭐️ Highlight of trip was Sunset Kayak guided tour
⭐️ Paros: Really enjoyed taking ferry over to Antiparos.
⭐️ Naxos: What a suite! Amazing! Loved having hot tub and private balcony.
⭐️ Santorini: Loved the private catamaran trip, really worth the peace and privacy.
⭐️ Athens: Hara, excellent guide for Acropolis!

Forget the witches and ghouls; nothing gives us more chills than seeing travelers take risks with their vacation time because of travel advice they find online that isn’t vetted.

Seriously, if you think a haunted house is scary, try booking a vacation without the right intel!

You never know if that blog post about the “best resort” is actually true or just a cleverly edited fairy tale.

And let’s not even get started on those photoshopped hotel pictures that make places look like five-star palaces when they’re really more “rustic charm” than luxury.

There really is no better seal of approval than the words of our clients. Our clients visited for a celebratory birthday for one of their children and they came home to tell us that the thing that impressed them the most was how 'above and beyond' the property was.

They shared a story about how they asked about a swimming rash guard at the kids club and after confirming the size were told it would be dropped off at their room the next day. Unfortunately, they didn’t realize at the time but they had an early morning departure for the airport and did not remember about the rash guard until leaving the property. Two days after returning home, Fed-Ex arrives as the property had shipped this to their home. Unprompted!

Should you go back to the Caribbean islands you know this winter, or try somewhere new?

You’re spoiled for choice in the Caribbean, there are so many gorgeous resorts and hotels and every island has its own things to explore.

Here are a few questions we ask my clients to help them narrow it down:

➡️ What kind of vacation are you looking for? Adventure, relaxation, culture, or a mix of all?

➡️ What activities do you want to prioritize for the trip? Are you just relaxing at the resort or do you want to venture out? And what’s top priority, water activities, culture, food, etc?

➡️ What’s your investment for this trip?

➡️ Who’s coming? Are you traveling with kids, family, friends, or will it just be you and your partner?

➡️ What’s one thing that would make this trip exceptional for you?

In short, the best Caribbean island depends on your personal preferences and travel style because no island is exactly the same.
