Did you know the caboose was once the rolling office, living quarters, and lookout for train crews? 🚂 These iconic cars, often painted bright red, served as a critical part of railroad operations for more than a century. Inside, conductors kept records, planned schedules, and ensured the train's cargo and passengers were safe. The caboose also provided shelter and a workspace for brakemen who manually adjusted brakes and inspected the train on the move.

Perhaps most importantly, the caboose was the "watchtower" of the train. Crew members could keep an eye on the cars ahead, checking for overheating wheels, shifting loads, or other issues. While modern technology has replaced the caboose, they remain a powerful symbol of the railroad's hardworking history.
