Tradepoint Atlantic is pleased to announce that Tradepoint Rail has once again been awarded the prestigious Jake Award with Distinction! This award recognizes Tradepoint Rail’s outstanding safety performance, achieving an injury and illness ratio less than or equal to the national Class II and Class III average of 2.38 per 200,000 hours of service for 2023.

The Jake Award, presented by the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association, was created by the late Jake Jacobson of the Copper Basin Railway to honor exemplary safety records in the railroad industry. Jake's passion for promoting railroad safety has inspired a generation of short-line railroaders, including the dedicated Tradepoint Rail team.

Tradepoint Rail is one of the largest privately owned short-line (Class 3) railroads on the East Coast, serving Tradepoint Atlantic with 70 miles of track. Its connection to two Class I railroads, CSX and Norfolk Southern, allows tenants and shippers to easily reach markets across North America.

Congratulations to the entire Tradepoint Rail team for their hard work and commitment to rail safety!

Yesterday channel clearing efforts continued as crews from Skanska USA - New England-led efforts, including assistance from Seaward Marine, moved the first salvaged pieces of the Key Bridge via barge to Coke Point here at Tradepoint Atlantic. The enormous bridge sections were then craned from barge to land where they will be processed in the weeks to come.

04/02/2024

Tradepoint Atlantic (TPA) today provided an update on operations that are underway to assist with restoration and recovery efforts following the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge:

While vessel traffic beyond the Francis Scott Key Bridge remains temporarily suspended due to channel clearing efforts, TPA's marine terminal remains fully open. Throughout the recovery process, cargo berths have been operational, accepting previously scheduled arrivals, while also providing additional capacity to welcome redirected cargo.

Redirected cargo continues to arrive at Tradepoint Terminals, as work to clear debris with state and federal partners has fully begun. TPA is committed to accepting redirected cargo to help maintain the supply chain and re-establish commercial activity.

Over the next fifteen days, six regularly scheduled roll-on/roll-off (Ro/Ro) vessels and an additional nine redirected vessels will arrive at the site. During that time, 10,000 automobiles will be unloaded and processed utilizing ILA's Local 333.

As previously reported, crews and multiple floating cranes, barges, and vessels have initiated wreckage removal from the Patapsco River. A five acre facility has been cleared at TPA to store and process recovered bridge material.

TPA continues to be in close coordination with the Moore administration, local elected officials, and shipping companies to assist in navigating the logistical concerns impacting the Port of Baltimore.

Tradepoint Atlantic today announced that its site and global logistics center resumed full operations following efforts to assist search and recovery efforts as a result of the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge.

03/26/2024

Like the rest of the nation, we are shocked by the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge and are praying for the families and the loved ones of those directly impacted. For nearly 50 years, the bridge has served as a vital artery of transportation and logistics, not only for the Baltimore region, but for the entire East Coast of America.

Tradepoint Atlantic has been in constant contact with emergency response officials and leaders from Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and the State of Maryland and will continue to coordinate during this extremely challenging situation. As part of the Port of Baltimore, we are committed to helping our state and local partners and the entire port community recover and rebuild from this tragedy.

Baltimore is a proud, tough, and a resilient community that has faced hard times in the past and has always come back stronger—it will again.

03/26/2024

Our team is closely following the catastrophic incident at the Key Bridge early this morning and stand ready to assist the maritime community and our local and state partners as necessary.

Our thoughts and prayers are with those who are impacted.
