A week from today is Election Day. Holiday Lights is signed up for the bake sale. In our case, the bake non sale. So, we are looking for bakers, cookies and candy makers who would be willing to help us out with goodies. We have some of the best bakers around and we could really use your help. The date is April 2, 2024. Tuesday. The location is the hallway at the Barney Center. The time is 12:00. We will be there as long as we have treats and sweets. Please bring your goodies, already packaged, to the Barney Center any time after 10:30. Thank you all so much. You are truly appreciated!
Please remember to vote.

We held our Pay It Forward presentation on Thursday night at the Barney Center. We recognized 9 volunteer groups with donations back to their non profits for their help with the putting up of the displays, the concessions and collecting of donations and the taking down of the displays.
We owe our deepest thanks to all of these groups and to all of you. The Holiday Lights is truly a community event. Thank you so.

A phone call was received from Joanie this afternoon. She was jubilant and done. The park has been cleared of all holiday stuffs. The fastest ever with the Sparta Area Fire District taking down the big trees. Terrific volunteers, great timing and everything falling into place. What a great feeling! Thank you to all of you for a wonderful season. ❄️⛄️❄️ Photos from Amy Hobson.

Just one more. Last one. Promise. Goodbye 2023.

πŸŽ…One more post before the end. First of all, thank you to all of you. The volunteers, the put uppers and the take downers, the bakers, the watchers, the donators, the collectors. All of you. We wish you a very Happy and Healthy New Year.

And secondly, a message from Carl and Joanie. This Saturday, January 6 at 9 am, we will have groups to help us take the sled, bike and train to John Kress's building. We also have Kiwanis to take down the big cards and stars along the fence. If you are able to join us, that would be greatly appreciated. Carl plans on making chili for us on Saturday.
Starting Tuesday, January 2nd, we will be at the park at 9:30 am each day trying to pull up all of the extension cords, removing the archway lights and posts. Trying to make it smoother for the Saturday take down. If you are available during the week, we surely could use your help.

Thank you again. We are a true community.

It's a beautiful night.

So sorry to bring you this report, but it must be said. The nasty children have been at it again. This time during the day. Carl and Joanie were at the park this afternoon and discovered some vandalism near the Mary Morrow bridge. The police have been notified and the cameras are being checked. Please let us know if you see or hear anything. And now for some good news. Our official lighting of the park will be a week from Friday. December 1st. After the parade. But.....we are going to turn the lights on Thanksgiving night, Friday and Saturday nights. We are almost done and will show you what we have ready. Then we will go dark until December 1st.
Happy Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!
