Happy New Year!

So many traditions to start off the New Year – did you do anything to ring in the New Year? Here are a few fun traditions from around the world.

One of the Spanish traditions of eating grapes at the stroke of midnight. Know as “the twelve grapes of luck” eating one grape for each stroke of the chime on the clock – you will be rewarded with luck, love & happiness into the New Year.

In Italy – the Italians ring in the New Year by discarding dishware, household items, and sometimes furniture – watch your head! This symbolizes letting go of the past, and old trouble and brings hope into the New Year. In Germany & Denmark & Netherlands – dishes are thrown at the doors of friends & neighbors. That amount of broken glass laying at your doorstep shows how much you are loved.

In Greece – they bake a foil-wrapped sweet coin into the bread or a cake – the person that receives this has good luck for the following year.

In Brazil – Celebrated by wearing white and a pair of new underwear. The color of your underwear will represent the wish you are attracted to. Red=Love, Green +Health and Yellow=Money.

In Asian countries in Buddhism, the temple bells will toll 108 times – for purification and to encourage a fresh start for the New Year.

Making a suitcase wish – this tradition happens in many Latin American countries. Packing your suitcase with items for your dream trip and take it for a walk around the block This is to bring travel & adventure to the New Year!

2025, we’re ready for you!

Sitting here, reflecting with gratitude on an amazing 2024.

2024 was filled with so many great travel memories with 4 new river cruises, 3 ocean adventures, 2 new countries, and several custom groups out on epic trips! (Bali, Portugal, Rivercruising & Spain)

Moments that pushed me out of my comfort zone like Artic plunging off Greenland and hiking to Tiger’s Nest in Bhutan.

Moments to celebrate like having guests on 6 continents at the same time and celebrating along with honeymoon couples in new places! Thailand, Japan, Croatia, Belize & Fiji were top favorites along with many unique trips to Europe!

I’m especially grateful for all the wonderful connections I’ve made with clients and colleagues! Cheers to 2024!

Currently, I have my clients traveling in Ireland over the holidays – staying in castles, festive dinners & afternoon teas, exploring the countryside, and even Northern Ireland! Here’s what they had to say about their experience.

They had a blast! Belfast is the perfect place for seeing the Titanic Museum, taking the famous Black Cab Tour, and seeing the city murals while learning about the history of this area.

Happy Holidays!

We have a few clients out with their families & friends over the holidays. What a great way to “warm up” in sunny Costa Rica for some guests!

Costa Rica is home to 12 different ecosystems including rainforest, cloud forests, and vast beaches creating the perfect backdrop to this ecological paradise. Adventure seekers can enjoy activities such as zip-lining, waterfall rappelling, white-water rafting, hiking, canoeing and even surfing the waves of Tamarindo! Visit the Arenal volcano area to enjoy hot springs and a bit of relaxation in between active adventures.

Travel Tip Tuesday - Venture off the beaten path!

Just back from a new country for me: Nepal. #111. Each year I set out to explore new places, meet new people, and experience new adventures! This year was a special year of celebration -I did my best to say “YES” to as many new unforgettable moments. Nepal was special: seen Mount Everest, celebrating a birthday with fellow adventure friends, enjoying new food, and seeing awe-inspiring landscapes by hiking, helicopter, and rugged roads.

Ironically I spent the day traveling Internationally to meet many of of my colleagues, mentors, and industry friends. I had the most amazing seatmate and had a wonderful conversation on adventures & travel to remote places of this world on the last flight I was on. Ended the day with a long-time friend of over 25 years working in travel together. Cheers to my Madames!
