Today, we're proud to announce that we're leading the charge as the first U.S. motorcoach company to offer 100% battery electric charter bus service! In partnership with ABC Companies and Van Hool, we've acquired two new CX45E electric buses as well as two new Ford E-Transit electric shuttle vans.

The newly added 45-foot CX45E models utilize the latest battery-electric vehicle technology to provide a range of up to 270 miles on a single charge. These state-of-the-art buses can carry up to 56 passengers while the two Ford E-Transit shuttle vans can transport up to 11 passengers while producing zero direct emissions. The new vehicle additions bring MTRWESTERN’s electric fleet to a total of five vehicles.

On Aug 16, 2023, we partnered with Amtrak and Washington State Department of Transportation to launch the first intercity electric bus in the U.S.! The bus operates a daily 200+ mile route along the Amtrak Cascades Seattle-Bellingham bus route. Through the electrification of this route, we are saving approximately 10,000 gallons of diesel fuel each year.

We are incredibly proud of the past year of excellent partnership as the first major step forward on our path towards increased electric bus integration into our fleet. Stay tuned as we continue our EV journey!

A reason to celebrate crushing buses?? We found a big one.

The MTRWESTERN EVolution continues with our latest Oregon Department of Environmental Quality grant focused on further reducing diesel emissions in the state of Oregon. The grant will have us scrap four current diesel buses and replace them with four brand new 100% battery electric motorcoaches to add to our growing EV fleet!
