Many All-Inclusive Resorts are now starting to charge a tray fee for room service. Unfortunately, it has been a trend in 2024 and will most likely continue in 2025. Please do not be surprised if this happens to you. Most resorts are charging $10 per tray. I haven't seen one resort update their website with this information or give us TA's a heads up either.

Today I spent exploring the town of Montecatini Terme, which is very well known for their Thermal Baths and took the Funicular up to Montecatini Alto. What an amazing little town on top of a mountainside. I really have no idea how they built these towns so long ago up on a mountain!

I have a cooking class this evening but I spent the day in Piza. Did you know…..the tower was built straight but it started to sink on one side after the 3-4 layer was built? From 1990-2001 the worked on correcting some of the tilt by using lead and concrete. They pumped out water from under the tower and added with counter weights with braces to add in concrete under the tower to help stabilize it. They were able to reopen it so you can climb to the top today. The “lean” is now the same as it was 300 years ago.
It was beautiful today as well. 74 degrees and sunny!

Spent today in Siena exploring the town. Made a great contact with a truffle hunter for my clients! Siena is made up of 17 districts and each district has a name (Snail, Dolphin, Forest…etc) and they have a 1 minute horse race in the center square every year on July 2nd. Each district has a horse that races. Even if the jockey falls off(and it happens a lot) whatever horse finished first is the winner. That district will party all night in the streets and they drink wine from baby bottles as the consider it a rebirth for winning!

Spent the day touring around the historical city center of Lucca before heading over to the Gothic bunkers from WWII. Finished off the late afternoon with some snacks and wine from The Enzo Carmignani in Montecarlo, Italy.
