Puerta Plata in the Dominican Republic… we enjoyed a Best of Tour and our tour guide Faustino did not disappoint!

History, architecture, culture… he covered it all.

Museums about the history and reformation of the Dominican Republic, a rum factory including tasting, amber museum (with some info about Jurassic Park and the connection to DR), coffee and chocolate AND the gorgeous stone named for the colors of the sea- larimer.

I loved the gorgeous floral dress at the rum factory and check out that LARIMER!

I’m in Miami to embark on Virgin Voyages Valiant Lady later today! This is a first for me as I have never sailed on Virgin. I can’t wait to explore the ship and see what sets Virgin Voyages apart from other cruise lines!

So what is Coral Gables and this Miracle Mile all about??? The most amazing foods. From breakfast to dinner and everything in between. Well known restaurants as well as the most beautiful hole in the wall places you have ever seen.

It is also home to dozens of wedding dress boutiques in case you or someone you know is in the market. Bookstores, home decor and so much more!

Have you stayed at an Aloft before? It’s part of the Marriott family… it definitely has that bougie feel and smell 😂

Check out the Aloft Coral Gables where we are staying for 2 nights before we head out to sea!

Check out the hallway color theme… that is one vibrant pink! We have an inside view of the pool which is located on the 3rd floor.

Breakfast is available for a fee and they have food and drinks available in the evening (including happy hour!). My favorite part is the location though. Conveniently located just a few blocks away from the Miracle Mile where there are so many choices to satisfy your appetite.
