The Spring Bulb Show tradition is BACK at the @smithcollegebotanicgarden ! The Spring Bulb Show starts this Saturday and will run for two weeks. This tradition began in the early 1900s.
Blooming at different times during the spring, over 8,000 bulbs are coaxed into flowering simultaneously. There will be an impressive display of crocuses, hyacinths, narcissi, irises, lilies, tulips and non-hardy South African bulbs. The growing process begins in October, as Smith students assist the horticulturists in potting the bulbs and putting them into cold storage.
The show will run through Sunday, March 16th, from 10am-4pm. Fridays and Saturdays will have extended hours until 8pm.
***Groups of 10 or more are recommended to sign up in advance online.
