Social Media Training Workshop (Free)
(Monday, Dec. 2 and Monday, Dec. 9 from 3:30-5:00)
Different from workshops offered online, this 2-session in-person workshop will be highly experiential, with each business owner or organization bringing a computer or phone with them to practice what they are learning as they are learning it.
Session 1 (90 minutes):
1) Platform choices, such as Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, etc.,
2) What to post, when and how to post, as well as how to create effective content for your target audience,
3) Best practices on each platform, how to use things like hashtags, how to draft the text for a post, and answer common questions;
4) Creating content with your smart phone and/or computer. Pictures and videos are easy and powerful forms of content, with many variables depending on the device and apps you're using;
5) Making simple videos and editing photos for posts. By the end of the first session the goal is that every participant will have gained hands-on experience making a video or photo practice post.

Session 2 (90 minutes):
6) Creating another practice post, and learning how to polish it up to include extra graphics, text, and images for maximum effect on social media;
7) Narrowing down target audiences, creating symbiotic partnerships with other businesses and influencers on social media;
8) Final questions and answers.

Did anyone notice the Sanford /Springvale Historical Museums new roof this week. Well I came to work on Tuesday morning and there was an army of workers from Precision Roofing all over that roof, stripping, nailing plywood and shingling both sides at once. I bet if the wind wasn't blowing all day they would have done the whole roof in a day. By Wed morning they were finished and gone. Harland would have been proud. Joe Pierce and his crew are amazing.

Sanford Sound and Seacoast Oldies teamed up for last nights BAH at the Sanford Sound location. If you were there you know what a great networking opportunity you had. Thank you Jack Bogard owner of Sanford Sound and all the Andy's, staff, and owners of Seacoast Oldies for a really fun night. Next opportunity to network will be Kennebunk Savings on November 20.

Thanks Jason.

We would like to apologize to our Shapleigh neighbors. We were not aware there would be a yard sale in the parking lot there this weekend. They are going to remove everything. We have allowed the parking lot to stay open because people park there and carpool to work or park there and walk around the parking lot.

While talking about the Shapleigh location, we want to clarify some misinformation out there.

The fire mitigation people have been amazing and done as much as they could inside while we still await approval for the last piece, which is an egress windows on the second floor. We have seen rumors posted there is no second floor and it's just an excuse. Believe me, there is a full second floor with offices and a huge storage area. The mitigation people are also contracted to do the rebuild. They are just as frustrated as we are that we are still awaiting approval. There have been engineers, architects and site planners working to get paperwork into the 3 agencies handling the building permits, which are Shapleigh Codes Enforcement, Acton Code Enforcement and the State of Maine. So those who posted that Paul Davis contractors are doing nothing or that we are keeping it closed to collect more insurance money are dead wrong. Paul Davis has been eagerly pushing the insurance company and getting permits. And for those keyboard warriors who said we get money for everyday closed for loss of business revenue, we collected less then 1 days worth of sales for loss of building revenue. Let that sink in.

We are aware there are cracks in the pavement and weeds. We have had professionals go and tell us there's no sense in doing anything prior if it's going to be ripped out and prepared. But it seems like others who have worked as gas station attendants know more then paving companies when you read their posts.

Finally, to those who say we opened Sanford so we never have to open Shapleigh. First, I would like to say just 6 months ago, you (the same negative posters) said we would never reopen that once I saw how much running a restaurant took, I got out and would never reopen. So what is it, we are never reopening Ted's or we are now never reopening Ted's in Shapleigh? So far, every comment you have made has been false and people see it. We opened Ted's in Sanford as we missed our amazing customers and had some amazing staff who wanted to get back to offering the freshest seafood to the best customers. We never expected it to be this successful and we are so thankful to everyone who keeps coming back and saying the food si just like they remembered it. And yes, we plan on staying open in Sanford and welcoming back Shapleigh!

We eagerly await to reopen Shapleigh and hire 70 to 75 great employees to work. And in 2025, we will celebrate Ted's Fried Clams and Rockhouse Ice Cream 75th Anniversary with all of you. For those who don't want to come, that's OK. We encourage you to visit any of the other amazing restaurants Southern Maine has to offer!

As always, if you want the real story and not that from fake profiles or disgruntled people who don't want to see anyone succeed, give us a call at 207 850 1114 or email me personally at [email protected].

This will be lots of fun.
