We are open and decorated for the holidays! Spruce Pine is back to welcoming guests but things to remember - 1) support the area but vacation with kindness 2) we recommend travel insurance if you think the weather will change your plans 3) this time of year due to possibility of winter weather, we recommend 4 wheel drive and snow chains (can return if you don’t need) but we would rather our guests be extra safe if you are lucky enough to vacation in a winter wonderland!

Due to the damage from Hurricane Helene, our tasting room is still closed as we navigate the best way to rebuild our bridge. As of right now, there is no access to our tasting room, however, we are able to ship wine - you can place an online order through our website (www.grandfathervineyard.com/order-online). You can also support us by purchasing eGift cards - these do not have an expiration date and can be used once we reopen (https://squareup.com/gift/MLP0MKW73B6TJ/order). There are a lot of moving pieces and we are unsure how long this process will take, but we are hoping to have a reopening date soon. Within the coming weeks, we will continue to update you on our progress along with keeping you updated on community insights and resources for Hurricane Helene relief. We appreciate everyone’s support, not only of our winery but to our community as a whole. We feel the love❤️

Agree! Come see us at Lake Nantahala and the surrounding area - these places need the economy support. I have shared this with many who have canceled their trip in places unaffected. Support is by going. Don’t crush another part of the state by not going.

The cabins survived!!! We have water but no power but we will let you know when they return for business. Miracles all around of fallen trees throughout Bear Den - around Campers, around houses and all lives spared. Such a tragic time but evidence of God’s protection as well. It appears a tornado swept through by the amount of trees snapped and what residents said. We checked on our neighbors dropping off gas, food and pet food and coming back Thursday with medication and more pet food and gas. We collected supplies and dropped at the church - thank you to those who donated - and are taking more back on Thursday to spruce pine first baptist church which is the central distribution center at the moment for this town. Continue to send your prayers and if you’d like to donate, Venmo mycarolinastay and we will take more supplies Thursday to where this town desperately needs them. Although we are down for business for some time here in Spruce Pine - please remember us if you need a getaway and go to www.mycarolinastay.com for other locations not affected until we are back in action here! Any donations to WNC relief efforts are needed and supplies needed!

At this time we are unsure of the status of our cabins but we are sure of the need in these little mountain towns. My husband and I are headed up today to deliver supplies and try to hike in to check on the cabins - if you would like to contribute feel free to venmo to . All donations will be used for purchases of canned goods, water and generators for spruce pine and little Switzerland. Continue to pray for our beloved mountain communities.
