A pastor asked an older farmer, decked out in bib overalls, to say grace for the morning breakfast.
"Lord, I hate buttermilk", the farmer began. The visiting pastor opened one eye to glance at the farmer and wonder where this was going.
The farmer loudly proclaimed, "Lord, I hate lard." Now the pastor was growing concerned.
Without missing a beat, the farmer continued, "And Lord, you know I don't much care for raw white flour". The pastor once again opened an eye to glance around the room and saw that he wasn't the only one to feel uncomfortable.
Then the farmer added, "But Lord, when you mix them all together and bake them, I do love warm fresh biscuits. So Lord, when things come up that we don't like, when life gets hard, when we don't understand what you're saying to us, help us to just relax and wait until you are done mixing. It will probably be even better than biscuits. Amen."

We’ve been working hard on the front porch at Brewster’s Lodge-Grandma’s House in Newhall, WV. We installed lattice around the bottom of the porch and we painted the storm door and rails on the porch. Moving on to the next project! Brewster’s Lodge- Grandpa’s and Grandma’s was rented by one group of guests this rainy weekend! The covered picnic shelter at Grandma’s was a wonderful gathering place after their ride. Although the extra parking area across the road isn’t complete, it came in handy for additional parking. Take the journey and make the memories! Brewster’s Lodge- Grandma’s House is our new rental. Outdoor amenities are progressing daily! We have the large covered picnic area with two tables that will seat 12 guests. There is a fire pit with 4 chairs and two tables. A charcoal grill and serving table. Don’t forget GM’s House has two porches. There is an 18’ gated driveway and fenced-in yard. The extra parking area for guests with large trailers is still in-progress. For guests that so want to be beside the creek there will be a special seating area for GM’s guests to enjoy across the road in the parking area too! Coming soon! Brewster’s Lodge- Grandma’s House in Newhall, WV outdoor amenities are ready!! This one picture shows the charcoal grill and serving table, two outdoor tables with sitting for 12, the fire pit with the stone surround and sitting for 4, then we have three extra chairs sitting on the hill for extra needs. We want to extend a special thanks to Michael and Chelsea Hawkins for the donation of the long outdoor table and 6 chairs. Brewster’s Lodge in Newhall, WV now has two rentals, which we have named Grandpa’s House and Grandma’s House. To help our guests, friends and neighbors identify which house is which, we posted signs on each one today. Both houses were built in 1920. Each rental is unique but fully furnished for our guests. Wayne and I took time to go riding trails to Miracle Mountain with our guests that were staying at Brewster’s Lodge- Grandma’s House. The weather was great even though the trails were very dusty due to our lack of rain. This has always been my favorite place to visit because it I so beautiful there.❤️🍁❤️🍃❤️🍂❤️

Brewster’s Lodge always tries to provide what our guests suggest. So… if you rent Grandma’s House you will have your own view of the creek from the parking area. Wayne took the time to install a ceiling fan on the front porch of Brewster’s Lodge-Grandpa’s House. A little special perk for people that are overwhelmed by the heat or an added benefit to keep the bugs away! Hope our guests enjoy it. (Brewster’s Lodge- Grandma’s House had one on the back porch!)

This is the future parking area next to Brewster’s Lodge-Grandpa’s House. The dumpster has been picked up. We still can’t burn because of wind, but it will happen. Next step is to haul dirt in to level up the back part of the lot.
