Calling All Vendors! Join us at the 2024 CoalTown Fall Festival in Welch, WV!
We are excited to invite vendors to participate in the 2024 CoalTown Fall Festival at Martha Moore Park! This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your products and services to the community.
Dates: Wednesday, September 25th - Friday, September 28th, 2024
Carnival Hours:
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday: 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Vendor Information:
Setup Locations:
Wednesday and Thursday: River Road at the bottom of Martha Moore Park (no power or water available)
Friday and Saturday: Top of Martha Moore Park and McDowell Street
Fees:
No charge for vendor space
$15 fee for electricity (receipt required for setup with power)
NOTICE: All food vendors must have a CURRENT food handlers permit as required by the McDowell Health Department. Please ensure you have a copy with you on-site during the festival.

We are always trying to improve amenities for our guests. We already had the farm gates for guest’s security, but we added the fencing at the bottom of the gates to add a better sense of security for pets our guests bring with them. Remember both our rentals are pet friendly and there is no extra charge for pets.

Took the time to enjoy a little history in McDowell Co. WV today. The maintenance worker, Chauncey Easterling, you see being interviewed repaired the bell in the clock at the McDowell County Courthouse. It’s been about 20 years since the bell last chimed. Today it chimed 12 times at 12:00 noon. The interesting fact is today, August 1st, is the anniversary of when Sid Hatfield and Ed Chambers were killed on the steps of the courthouse in 1921. We really enjoyed helping the townsfolk celebrate this event.

Brewster’s Lodge- Grandma’s House in Newhall, WV outdoor amenities are ready!! This one picture shows the charcoal grill and serving table, two outdoor tables with sitting for 12, the fire pit with the stone surround and sitting for 4, then we have three extra chairs sitting on the hill for extra needs. We want to extend a special thanks to Michael and Chelsea Hawkins for the donation of the long outdoor table and 6 chairs. Brewster’s Lodge- Grandma’s House in Newhall has new amenities available for our guests. There is a covered picnic area with tables and chairs, a grill with serving table, and a fire pit with several Adirondack chairs. The driveway is now graveled with an 18’ gate and fenced-in yard. We have recently made improvements to Brewster’s Lodge- Grandpa’s House outdoor amenities in Newhall, WV. You can see the arrangement of tables, fire pit chairs and swing has been changed. There is now a handicap rap up to the front porch. Also check out the concrete pad available for motorcycles to park.

Outdoor amenities for Brewster’s Lodge- Grandma’s House have begun! Yesterday NC Steel Buildings of Mt.Airy, NC set up our 12’x20’ covered picnic shelter. So excited that we will be able to host larger groups now.

Newhall Bridge replacement is moving forward. Remember both bridges near Tunnel Hill are being replaced. The temporary road and bridges are complete. Stoplights have been installed to enable traffic to continue moving through the area. Now the bridge work can begin.

We rode HMT’s Indian Ridge Trail with some friends for the first time on Saturday. We had a blast!
I am just so excited to see this snow this morning. It’s not going to lay, but it is just so beautiful falling. God never ceases to amaze me and lift me up!!

Here are our most recent visitors to the backyard creek at Brewster’s Lodge. We had a few otters this time. We’ve seen a large snapping turtle, deer, minks, cranes, two species of ducks, raccoon, turkey, and a beaver. We never know when, we just feel blessed when they visit. They don’t stay long, they just come and go.
