I grew up in STL with nonstops to Paris, London & Frankfurt. Last 20 years we haven't even had nonstops to JFK & often require our international clients to stay overnight in the gateway city out of USA. I'm very happy to see this & it's coming @ a perfect time.

2021 is going to welcome all kinds of new trends in this industry and one of them that’s long been available, just under the radar, is the idea of slow travel. Stemming from the slow food movement out of Italy in the 1980’s (we used to do slow food tours), slow travel seeks to spend more time exploring & getting to know one small area instead of seeing a little bit of a bunch of different areas. Barging is the epitome of slow travel … you get to spend 7 days going deep into 1 region, moving slow enough to fully experience the place with activities like biking or hiking into charming villages that are often off the beaten path & not overrun by ocean/river cruise clientele.
