Hey there folks. It's been a while since I've posted and wanted to come up for air and say hi 👋

I had a great time checking out Portland, OR for the first time seeing some good friends who used to live in St. Louis.

As I was enjoying my time in the "Rose City" I started to think about the little things about travel that make my adventures enjoyable.

For some odd reason, I get really excited about ordering a ginger ale on the plane when the refreshment cart rolls through the aisle (watch those elbows!). Something about enjoying a Canada Dry thousands of feet in the sky just hits different.

I remember laughing to myself when this SNL commercial premiered this year. But I think it hits a nerve that many of us are feeling in the in the travel industry; vacation rentals are no longer just outright better than hotels.

Just got back from a weekend float trip to the Current River in Eminence, MO. I was actually good this time about properly cleaning all of my camping gear within one day of getting back to civilization!

Does anyone do this? Seems like major OCD, but I've never had any run-ins with bed bugs.

I guess if you're staying in a hotel that feels unclean where you feel uncomfortable leaving your luggage on your bed, you've got bigger issues ;)

Going on vacation? Putting your luggage in the hotel room's bathtub could save you from bed begs.
