As Women’s History Month comes to a close, we are thrilled to introduce you to a remarkable team of women who have not only shaped EaglePicher’s history but also embody the essence of our company. Collectively, these 9 women have dedicated an astounding 362 years to our organization – a testament to their unwavering commitment and friendships.

Based at our C Street facility in Joplin, Missouri, these women focus on supplying critical thermal and silver-zinc batteries to support our American warfighters. Their work has contributed to various military and space programs including Patriot, AMRAMM, Hellfire, Excalibur, Tomahawk, JDAM, Stinger, Javelin, Trident, Atlas and the Hubble telescope just to name a few.

What they cherish most about their extensive careers is the family-like work environment along with the importance of what they do to support our country. Over the years, working side by side has created a strong team atmosphere.

Meet Tammy Little, whose journey began with us in 1983 as a Process Associate. Starting with silver-zinc batteries, she transitioned to nickel-hydrogen batteries, showcasing her versatility. Over the course of three decades, Tammy has served as a Senior Engineering Technician, contributing significantly to our company's success.

Tammy finds fulfillment in working on projects with a profound purpose that contribute positively to our nation. Collaborating closely with engineers, she finds joy in the process of working side-by-side with them on impactful products. Among her notable endeavors, Tammy fondly recalls her involvement in the Hubble Space Telescope project, a testament to her invaluable contributions to groundbreaking initiatives. Her dedication even earned her the privilege of witnessing a space launch firsthand in Florida, an experience she cherishes deeply.

In celebration of Women’s History Month, we are thrilled to shine a spotlight on Michele Tennis, our receiving and storeroom clerk at our Seneca, Missouri facility. Michele’s unwavering dedication for 37 years at EaglePicher has left an unforgettable mark, as she radiates positivity with a warm smile.

Beginning her journey with us after obtaining her solder certification, Michele initially contributed to our operations in the solder room. Her expertise soon led her to become a technician, specializing in nickel-iron and nickel-hydrogen cells and batteries crucial for space applications. Notably, Michele played a role in crafting the batteries that powered the International Space Station during its inception—an achievement she holds with pride.

Transitioning to our energetics facility in Seneca, Michele immersed herself in various roles, spanning from receiving and inspection to quality assurance, before settling into her current role as a receiving and storeroom clerk. Her impeccable attendance record stands as a testament to her commitment and reliability.

Grateful for her tenure with EaglePicher, Michele finds joy in her dual roles as a dedicated team member and a cherished member of her loving family, including her husband, children, grandchild, friends, and animals. She credits her faith in God for guiding her through life's journey and all her blessings.

In celebration of Women’s History Month we want to introduce you to Svetlana Trebukhova, a senior scientist at our East Greenwich facility. Svetlana has truly made history here at EaglePicher, working to improve and develop new lithium-ion cell designs for very high-energy and high-power applications.

After receiving her master’s in chemical engineering, Svetlana joined EaglePicher in 2002 as an R&D technician working on lithium-ion cells and batteries. While working on the development of high-voltage lithium-ion cathode materials she earned her second master’s degree in material science. Her dedication and hard work resulted in her name being on several scientific paper. It's amazing to see how she has balanced her successful career with raising a family, Svetlana raised two sons with her husband and is now a very proud grandmother.

Thank you, Svetlana, for your contributions and for blazing a trail for women in the field of science and engineering. You're a true history maker!
