🎣🌊 Protect Georgia's Spotted Seatrout! Join Operation ROE! 🌊🎣

CRD is calling on recreational anglers to help protect spotted seatrout (Cynoscion nebulosus) by voluntarily releasing individuals over 18 inches in length through September 2025. 🐟✨

🌡️ Why?
Recent periods of extreme cold weather in southeast Georgia have caused water temperatures in the low 40s—levels that can be lethal to spotted seatrout. Even if they survive the initial chill, the stress can lead to delayed mortality.

🚀 We’re Relaunching "Operation ROE: Release Over Eighteen"
This voluntary initiative helps protect larger, egg-producing females, essential for the species' recovery and resilience. 💪🧡 Research shows that bigger fish mean more eggs and stronger juvenile populations.

💡 How You Can Help:
✔️ Release spotted seatrout over 18 inches to safeguard prolific spawners.
✔️ Handle fish with care—use rubberized nets, proper hooks, and minimize time out of the water.
✔️ Learn best practices for catch-and-release to ensure fish survival.

Great day with Pete and his family out of Fernandina Harbor today. Lots of action on some underslot reds and we found a nice variety for dinner. Keep us in mind when you stay on Amelia Island!

Me and Bob threw everything we had at them today and it didnt matter, they ate it all! We caught and released well over 35 Redfish. Incredible day. Book a trip and come see me!
