We'll call it the Baristas, Berries, Bridges, Beaches & Benches run! (Try to say that real fast:) We started the day at the charming Northern Highland Coffee Company with burritos, coffee & a great chat with Deb, the owner and her young daughter. Raspberries on the trail, the "Corridor," Crystal Lake Beach where you can cool off, and benches to sit upon and ponder... Make it a full day and go a bit further to hike at Fallison Lake State Trail, or Fern Ridge and Awassa Trails in St. Germain. All in the beautiful NHAL, Wisconsin's largest state forest. Get your Vilas Vibes Silent Sports & Rec Map & Guide at the coffee house or Boulder Junction Chamber of Commerce.

We did a turnover for our next guest today, and I remembered how cozy the Loft is on a rainy day. Chess, books, DVDs, a comfy bed, a covered deck from which to watch the rain-- all while it's rainin on a tin roof....

If you've ever taken a sauna here, you know how much we needed a little deck out there...and now we have one! It's a nice place to just sit in the woods, too :)
