Regarding treatment, my main efforts revolve around treating children and adolescents. As a parent, it can be extremely distressing to watch your child veer off course and head down the wrong path, a path that may be leading to school related issues, serious familial disruption, or even criminal charges that may follow for the rest of their life. I also offer a number of additional resources to reduce violence in schools and in the workplace. Mass shootings in schools and in the workplace are becoming a growing concern in the United States. While it may seem that we hear about another mass shooting weekly, these incidents are relatively rare. Research indicates that the most effective way to reduce targeted violence is by each organization having an internal threat assessment team (TAT). TATs can be a central point within the school or company that can field threats or address concerning behaviors from students or employees, assess the behavior, and monitor the individual to prevent an impending attack. S. Secret Service who utilized threat assessment to protect key figureheads, and today thousands of organizations have their own TAT to help protect their establishments.
