Happy New Year to any and all friends of Great Alaska Adventures! We hope the new year brings you and those you love the very best.
We've been woeful Facebook posters and self-promoters I'm afraid, but we wanted to share....the winds of change are blowing at Great Alaska Adventures! For any who may not know, we have been closed for the past two seasons. After our busiest and most successful year yet in 2021, we decided that life was short, and after over 40 years of helping travelers experience the trip of a lifetime, we were ready to get out there and pursue some of our own!
In May of 2022, we were blessed to pass on Alaska Bear Camp (Wayne's homestead) to Natural Habitat Adventures, and they are doing a stellar job. We are now equally blessed to do the same with our cherished homestead on the banks of the Kenai River.
Our next post will introduce the folks who bought Great Alaska, as well as booking information, as we are thrilled to announce that the lodge will be open for business again this summer! While we won't be personally involved, Great Alaska Adventures will live on, and highly encourage you to check them out. They have a fantastic team, have a great way with facilities, and are great people....and we expect great things from them! They now have the greatest location on the amazing Kenai River, as we did for all those years.
I would be remiss if I did not also share that my father, Great Alaska founder and visionary Laurence John passed away this fall, just as we completed the lodge sale. No one loved Alaska more than my father, and I know wherever he is, there will be a great view.
A profound thank you from Laurence, Kathy, myself, Julie, and Deb to each and every guest who chose Great Alaska Adventures over the last 40 years, and for sharing their lives with us. And for me, a special thank you to my wife Julie - I couldn't have done it without you! And finally, to the amazing staff that helped us create these one-of-a-kind trips. You know who you are. :)
Happy New Year,
Kent
