Welcome to Denali National Park, home to pristine landscapes, wildlife galore, and the towering Denali. Include a day or two in your itinerary and stay at one of the local lodges outside the park entrance. From here you can take wildlife and tundra tours, a hike or two, or just sit back and relax as you admire the breathtaking views.

If a visit to Denali is on your bucket list, peak season is late May through mid-September when the weather is most pleasant.

Dreaming of the Swiss Alps? Here's a view from Wengen, Switzerland when Jeff was there last month. Surprisingly, the best weather of the whole 2 week trip as up in the mountains! Don't be afraid to travel in the off-peak season. Not only can you avoid the crowds of summer, but you avoid the heat too.

One benefit of touring Europe in November- you get a combo of fall colors 🍁 and Christmas markets 🎄. The foliage was just past peak, the grass was green, and there was a mix of fall decorations like this one in Strasbourg, France, and shops and markets with full Christmas decorations. With highs in the 40s and 50s, it was just right.

I visited the Anne Frank house with my Mom yesterday. I remember reading her story in school, but it was very moving to visit the place she and her family hid before all but her father died in the concentration camps.

If you're going to Alaska, we can't recommend enough, including a cruise that gets you into Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve! You'll get to see lots of glaciers and wildlife, all from the comfort of your balcony or up on the top deck. Just make sure to pack some layers as the air can be a bit cool coming off the glaciers. 😀

While most canals in Venice are fairly shallow (just a few feet deep), the Grand Canal is about 16 feet deep and is up to 300 feet wide in some areas. With it's gentle S-turns and beautiful architecture, it's a site to behold!
