Only a couple more big moon phases before our Permit start to pre spawn! Spring is a great time to pursue them on the Flats & Backcountry before they head off to the Reef to spawn. This super skittish fish is more like hunting than fishing and provides an absolute rush from start to finish. Light tackle & accurate casting combined with super picky & hard fighting fish. Doesn’t get much better than that!

Winter Flats & Backcountry fishing has been heating up! On milder days the Bonefish have been pretty active, and the Backcountry Goliath groupers have been roaming around with these cooler temps. Such a great combo of fun!

2025 is off to a fantastic start!! The winter weather has been wonderful, and with that the Winter Dino’s have shown up! Chase had the honor this year of landing the first Tarpon and it was also his first Tarpon!! This solid fish battled well, and Chase fought it perfectly. Can’t wait for what the rest of the year brings!

Running from one spot to the next we caught this Brown Clown slackin on the surface! Cobia are such goofy fish, but provide a hard fight! Plus they have so many fun nicknames that crack me up. Congrats Gracie on landing your first Brown Cow! Or Lemon fish or Ling or Cobra or… the list goes on 🤡🐮🍋🐍

Our Backcountry Grizzlies don’t hibernate during the winter like they do up north! With cooler water temps our Jr Goliath groupers can be quite active and lurk around under the mangroves. Such a fun size fish to fight in light tackle!
