Warderick Wells – As the headquarters of the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park, Warderick Wells offers a well-protected mooring field in the shape of a horseshoe. The island features the Boo Boo Hill trail, leading to panoramic views and a driftwood pile where visitors leave personalized signs. The vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life make it a premier spot for snorkeling and diving. The park’s no-take policy ensures an untouched environment, preserving its natural beauty.
Shroud Cay – An uninhabited cay within the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park, Shroud Cay is known for its mangrove creeks that create natural ‘lazy rivers.’ Kayaking or paddleboarding through these creeks leads to secluded beaches and the famous ‘Washing Machine’—a tidal flow perfect for a natural drift ride. The area’s diverse ecosystems make it a haven for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts.
Day 3: Little Pipe Cay – A privately owned island epitomizing luxury and seclusion. While the island itself is private, the surrounding waters offer excellent anchorage and opportunities for water sports. The stunning beaches and turquoise waters provide a picturesque backdrop, making it a coveted spot for those seeking tranquility away from the crowds.
Day 4: Staniel Cay – A hub of activity in the central Exumas, Staniel Cay is home to the famous swimming pigs at Big Major Spot and the underwater cave of Thunderball Grotto, featured in a James Bond film. The Staniel Cay Yacht Club offers dining, accommodations, and a lively social scene, while the surrounding waters are ideal for snorkeling, fishing, and exploring.
Day 8: Norman’s Cay – Once the headquarters of a notorious drug cartel, this island now offers a serene anchorage with a touch of history. Snorkel around the submerged remains of a drug-smuggling plane, now a vibrant artificial reef teeming with marine life. Explore the pristine beaches and enjoy a meal at MacDuff’s, known for its fresh seafood and island ambiance.
“Day 9: Black Point – Your boat feels at home here, and so will you. The anchorage is wide, calm, and perfect for a good night’s rest. Stock up on supplies, grab some Bahamian bread, and let the kids play at the beach while you chat with the friendliest locals in the Exumas.”
“Day 10: Little Farmer’s – A tiny island with a big heart. This anchorage is perfect for a quiet family day ashore. Pick up fresh seafood, explore the island, and enjoy a classic Bahamian sunset while the kids hunt for seashells. You’ll want to stay forever—but don’t worry, the locals will happily let you.”
Day 11: Hawksbill Cay – This anchorage is the definition of peace and quiet. Secluded beaches, shallow turquoise water, and endless room to explore. This is where families reconnect—and forget what the word ‘rush’ even means.
