Fantastic shared trip in the backcountry today.
Mud Key and Marvin Key sandbars, all the creeks, and a half hour of bailing yellow jacks.
Finished it off with fresh boiled stone crab on the beach.
A perfect day all around.

Beautiful four hour tour in the backcountry today.
We visited the mud keys swim beach and had Marvin Key all to ourselves. Fishing was ridiculously good and we left them chewing at the transom.
Add a fresh stone crab lunch and it really doesn't get any better.

Got to pull on a few myself today!
Took a much needed play day with my good buddy Doug.
The fish were frisky with weather on the horizon.
Caught em quick and ran back before the rain hit.

Big thanks to Alex and Darklee for day tripping all the way from Ft Lauderdale just to fish a four hour trip this morning. Alex said he wanted to target yellow jacks and nothing else so the pressure was on.
Had a cool ride out but it was nice and toasty once up in the creeks.
Everything worked out as planned and they are heading north with a cooler full of the best eats out there. Thanks again for fishing Outback with Jack!

Sunrise to sunset on the water. Something I miss about the old commercial fishing years. Got it in today with two stunning trips in the backcountry. Caught the fish good this morning and enjoyed the biggest sandbar I've seen all year. Our current negative tides are incredible and make the seascape nearly unrecognizable out there. More land than water around the gulf passages mid day.
Second round was a fun birthday sandbar sunset combo. Couldn't have asked for better conditions or company.

It doesn't fill your heart with confidence when the godfather of backcountry fishing tells you it's going to be real tough today. Add 20 mph north wind, 61 degree water, and crazy negative tides and it's downright intimidating.
We made it happen though. Had to work hard for them and pull some unorthodox moves but that's what it takes sometimes. Not the biggest fish or catch but I'm way more proud of this than a full box on an easy day.

No snorkeling gear required.
We caught some snapper along the way and enjoyed a low tide beach at Marvin Key.

It was another 4 hour slay fest in the backcountry today. The second trip this week for this super fun Tampa crew. Pushed it back a few hours today as it wasn't very nice out this morning. Hit it just right and caught a little bit of everything. Mangrove snapper, yellowtail, Goliath grouper, yellow jacks, and lost a couple big sharks. Even caught a ballyhoo on a bare #2 hook. Seems like the fish are gorging before the weather hits.

I still have a few days open in December so call now to get in on the action. Please message me on facebook or text/call 304 394 7032 for details and booking.

Took the Wise family out for another round in the backcountry today. They were just out with me in October and it was probably the last time we had weather this nice. Today is going to be hard to beat though. Traps were full, snapper and jacks were fired up, and we had acres of low tide sandbars.

Started early today to catch the tide and the weather window.
First bait in yielded a five pound yellow jack. Pulled them in steadily for a half hour until the bite tapered off. Next stop was the Mud Key sandbar for some pics and a little walkabout. Wandered over to Snipe Point afterwards and had it all to ourselves for most of the time. With perfect flat calm low tide conditions.
Completed the trifecta with a visit to Marvin where we were all alone once again.
Even with the overcast conditions we were able to see sharks, turtles, and one enormous eagle ray. Our migratory seabirds are out in full force as well. Feeding on shoals of baitfish in shallow water they put on quite a show.
Finished the day with a little creek tour and some snapper fishing. Love it when a plan comes together perfectly.

Super fun six hour shared trip today. Started it off grabbing a few claws and then headed for a snapper spot. The bite was tough but we put a few nice fish in the box. Ran down to the Mud Keys afterwards to take a dip at the sandbar with a little snorkeling.
Headed back east next and dropped a line on the way to Marvin. Had a great time pulling on big yellow jacks before heading to the beach. While en route we were graced with a large flock of white pelicans in v formation. Always a treat to see.

It was a beautiful sunny day in the backcountry.
Had the place all to ourselves except for a lot of very hungry fish. Bite was off the charts with all kinds.
First fish in the box was a 6 pound mangrove and it just got better from there. Paul even managed to haul a hefty Goliath out of the trees on 12 # tackle. A tough battle in itself without the 3 knot current we were dealing with.
Finished the day relaxing on the sandbar in the cool outgoing tide.
