Embarking on a soulful Epicurean Experience river cruise in Paris with Black Paris Tours to celebrate Juneteenth has been an absolute dream! 🌟
Today, we marveled at the iconic Arc de Triomphe and the Monument to the Abolition of Slavery. Our guide shared the profound history of the Code Noir, the decree that defined the conditions of slavery back in 1685 under King Louis XIV.
We drove past the vibrant Montmartre, soaking in the rich history of cabarets and legendary jazz musicians, including the 369th Harlem Hellfighters Band, who made their mark here.

We then visited the stunning Sacré-Cœur Church and strolled through the Luxembourg Gardens, where we admired the Freedom Monument.
Walking through the African district, we relished the diverse flavors of African cuisine and vibrant street vendors, and visited Little Africa, a unique gallery space and cultural hub in La Goutte d’Or district. The journey continued with a panoramic tour of the left bank of Paris, exploring the Latin Quarter and Pantheon Square, where the incredible Josephine Baker was honored in 2021.We also paid homage to the numerous African American and African writers and artists who found inspiration in this city.
