The Black church has always been more than a building—it was our sanctuary, our school, our safe haven.

Let’s give flowers to the ones who laid the spiritual foundation:

𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵 – Savannah, GA (1773)
Where the earliest Black congregation gathered under threat of violence to worship in spirit and in truth.

𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗹 𝗔𝗠𝗘 – 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗮, 𝗣𝗔 (𝟭𝟳𝟵𝟰)
Founded by Rev. Richard Allen after walking out of a segregated church—because Black people have always known our worth.

These churches weren’t just about religiosity—they were about justice, resistance, education, and organizing for freedom.

"Learn to do right; seek justice and correct the oppressor. Defend the fatherless and plead the case of the widow.” Isaiah 1:17 (BSB)

But whose tradition are they protecting?🤔

Black Americans have always been faithful. Always been patriotic. Always been powerful.🇺🇲

We built churches during slavery. ⛪️

We marched for freedom.🗽

We brought culture, innovation, and soul to the world.💡

So when they try to erase multicultural history or stop conversations about injustice, that’s not protecting values—that’s rewriting history.✍️
