I've been asked about our name Purple Hippo Travels, and how in the world we came up with such a funky title. I have to admit it makes me giggle thinking about it. So let's chat about the origin of us!

I lost my mom in 2021. It hit me hard, so hard I lost an entire year of my memory. She always liked the idea of me being a travel agent and honestly, so did I. So, after taking a serious leap I needed a name. My moms favorite color was purple and my daughters favorite animal is hippos. So to honor my mom and include my daughter, Purple Hippo Travels was born!

I hope it makes my mom smile up there, she's still a big part of my life and I miss her dearly. We worked at Disney World together and made many magical memories.

When my daughter was born in 2014 I asked my mom what she wanted to be called. She answered, one of her favorite characters is Nana from Peter Pan and wanted to be called Nana after her. So when Disney came out with the tsum tsum of Nana it was the best gift ever! I still have her on my desk and love on her when needed.

Get ready to embark on a magical journey, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is officially opening at Walt Disney World on June 28th, 2024! 🏰🐸👑

Disney has released some tips on How to Ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure starting on June 28th:

A) Drop on in to the virtual queue:
Guests can request to join the virtual queue via the My Disney Experience app at one of two times: 7 a.m. or 1 p.m. While a standby queue will not be available during the attraction’s initial opening days, we expect to open a standby queue soon after the attraction’s opening.
Visit disneyworld.com/virtualqueue for more details about how virtual queues at Disney World work and what you need to know before visiting Magic Kingdom.

B) Use Disney Genie+ service:
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will also be included as a Lightning Lane entrance in Disney Genie+ service. Purchasing this service on the My Disney Experience app helps you get to some of your favorite attractions faster through Lightning Lane entrances and includes digital downloads of select Disney PhotoPass attraction photos taken in the park on the day of your purchase at no additional charge! Now, don't forget Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will have a photo on the attraction so if you don't grab a LL pass for the day, Memory Maker would be a great addition for whole your trip.
