The Friendship Force of the San Francisco Bay Area

We are the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of Friendship Force International. We travel to visit with FF clubs in other states and countries.

Our goal is the promote understanding between us, and to cultivate friendships. Friendship Force of the San Francisco Bay Area (FFSFBA) participates in one-week home stays both at home and abroad--hosting groups here and traveling as a group to stay with members of other clubs around the world. Our purposes are to experience countries and cultures different from ours, to promote understanding between us, and to cultivate friendships. We are a member club of Friendship Force International.

A couple weeks ago, the Friendship Force Connecticut club were our guests and together we explored
Henry Cowell Redwoods park,
Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History,
and wandered downtown Capitola with a delightful beachside dinner at Zelda's restaurant.

A wonderful day in San Jose, CA.

FFSFBA went to visit our local Japan Town.
World Friendship Day, Introduction to Japan & LEO (Let's Eat Out)

We listened to the priest at the Buddhist Church.
We had a delicious lunch at the Gombei Japanese Restaurant.
And then we enjoyed a tour of the Japanese American Museum.

We learned so much about the culture and the history.

Hooray! 14 Ambassadors are departing this week for a Journey to Kiel, Germany. They will be hosted there in the homes of the local Friendship Force members. This will be the first post-pandemic Journey abroad, and we are planning many more!
