Mt. Bachelor Complex - Fire Update - Great News!
(September 12, 2024)

The evacuation level for Sunriver has been reduced to Level 1 as of September 12, 2024, due to the progress in controlling the Little Lava Fire.

This means residents should remain prepared, but immediate evacuation is not necessary. The fire, part of the Bachelor Complex, has grown to over 10,000 acres, though cooler, wetter weather has helped slow its spread, allowing firefighters to establish containment lines.

Some surrounding areas are still under Level 2 or 3 evacuations, but Sunriver itself is now under the least severe warning.

To stay up to date with wildfire information, including the Mt. Bachelor Complex Fire, you can download the Watch Duty app. It provides real-time updates, alerts, and evacuation notices for wildfire incidents, particularly in the western U.S.
