If you haven’t visited the Karen Beasley turtle The Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center make sure to put it on your list of fun items in Surf City. Great for kids and adults alike, make sure to reserve a spot ahead of time! (And it’s very close to beer and ice cream spots for just after!)

Meet one of our newest patients, Montana Ruby💕

Little Montana is a juvenile green sea turtle that cold stunned and was found on Cape Lookout on March 17, 2023. She is covered with small barnacles (like the one on her flipper!), but is active and eating lots of capelin! Montana Ruby was named as part of our 2023 gemstone theme and inspired by our KBSTRRC Fellow - Montana!

All conservation work for endangered sea turtles at and on Topsail Island is authorized by the NC Wildlife Resources Commission, ES Permit 23ST05.

Took a quick ride down to Holden Beach last friday with mom to get some of the highly sought after fossilized sea biscuits. The biscuits were plentiful and mom found a bucket list prize of her own!
