Guys, this is Deb Woody who originally made all of the pirate costumes for us. She also gave me Ajax and Caribbean (our parrots). She lost her home in hurricane Florence and had to start all over again. Her business is also in downtown Wilmington, NC and was closed down with damage. She is back up and running. But now, this. Like so many, this is hitting her hard. She is now forced to shut down....again. She does not know if she will be able to make it .....again. Please, share, buy something if you can etc. She does have GREAT stuff and she is SO talented. PLEASE check it out, I love her so much

It is with a very heavy heart that we need to report that one of our original pirates, Dean Goodyear, who played Captain Peacock Captain of the pirate ship Raven passed away this weekend. He was only 30 years old. It was very sudden and came as a shock to all. Please keep his friends, family and fiance in your thoughts and prayers.

We have all been through so much. This is another one that hits home. Perryn, his Mom Jamie and his grandmother Donna Perry Javaras (who is a good friend of mine) have been on The Belle many times. They lost their home in the hurricane Florence and now Perryn and the family are facing this devastating trauma with Perryn of a brain tumor. PLEASE read the story, pray, if possible donate he is the cutest little boy and from such a great family.

I am raising money to help the Miller family during this very difficult time. They are fighting the unimaginable right now, and need not only all of the prayers they can get, but also there is a financial need that grows every day. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
One of the Cruises I had wanted to do this year was a cruise playing the music to this song "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" saying goodbye to the Swingbridge. Little did I know it was also goodbye to us. Thank you all for giving us great memories

How Appropriate for Veterans Day. The Belle left Surf City today to the boatyard. Dave Gardner who has The Vonda Kay and The Queen Jean is taking her and giving her a new life. He is going to make her into a dredge/marine construction vessel and rename her after his Grandfather, WG NIcholson, who died in World War II and served on the submarine Grayback. Those who know me, know I love and respect our Vets. I am so happy about this. May the old girl live on and thank BOTH of them for their service! (will post more later)

History of The Grayback: Grayback had just torpedoed a Japanese destroyer and a merchant ship and was subsequently subjected to an all night depth charge attack. She managed to slip away around dawn. In dire need to recharge her batteries she was running for home (Midway) and she was out of torpedoes. The radar had quit working so they didn't see the Val (Japanese torpedo bomber) diving on them out of the sun. He hit them with a 200lb bomb. They submerged, damaged but able to dive. The plane radioed in the destroyers from the night before and they unleashed a savage depth charge attack. The attack continued until diesel, oil and debris came to the surface. Grayback was lost with all hands in the South China Sea February 27, 1944.
