Snow at the beach! ⛄️🏖️❄️🎿

Curious what a snow day at Capital Vacations Country Club Villas looks like?? It’s snow beautiful! But very icy out. Please take caution when walking and/or driving. Do not drive if you do not absolutely have to. Stay warm and enjoy!

Tropical Storm Debby is making her way out of our area, and we are pleased to report that we have experienced no major damage at the resort as of right now.

We will continue to experience a windy day today, along with periods of rain, but it seems the worst of the storm has passed.

If you are traveling to the resort within the next several days, please be aware that you may experience road closures due to flooding in the inland and outlying areas, as the rivers and waterways continue to rise. Research alternate routes before you leave, as GPS does not always pick up road closures.

If you call our office and no one answers leave a message as we are running a skeleton on call crew. Back to normal operating hours tomorrow!

2 PM UPDATE - Rounds of heavy rain are rolling through the area. Right now, the heaviest rain is over Horry County. PLEASE be careful if you have to be out and about. Rounds of extremely heavy rain will continue through evening and night. Winds are gusting in the 30s now but could gust in the 40s this evening and overnight. A gust near 50 mph is not out of the question on the beaches.

YOU'RE ALREADY IN TOO DEEP

If there's water pooled on the roadway, DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH.

It might appear shallow or at a depth you think your vehicle can handle, but you don't know what kind of hazards can hide beneath the surface.

There could be:

o Sink holes
o An underestimated current
o Downed electrical wires
o Chemical spills
o Animals and other wildlife

Even if it costs you a little extra time, you still need to turn around and go the way you came, perhaps finding an alternate route to your destination. Playing it safe will just about guarantee your safety, the safety of those riding with you AND decrease the chances of another emergency response from already-busy fire-rescue personnel.

Avoid the roads until the water recedes. You don't need to go out and live stream or photograph the damage for social media posts. Stay in and stay safe.

As Hurricane Debby approaches we have been taking immediate action to ensure the safety of our guests, staff and the resort itself. Here are a few of the ways we have prepared ahead of the storm:

Communication plan: We will be corresponding with guests on our social media, with guest staying on property through email and text messages advising them on the latest storm updates advising them to stay informed and follow all safety protocols. We are also updating staff regularly. Most families have chosen to end their stay early, but we do currently have a few families still on site. We have a list of their phone numbers and emails to contact them quickly as needed.

Safety Measures: We have secured all outdoor furniture and equipment, as well as moved the pool furniture indoors and/or secured them as necessary. We made sure all emergency supplies were stocked up.

Evacuation protocols: We compiled a list of emergency contacts, including local authorities, emergency services so we can communicate effectively throughout the duration of the storm.

Post storm assessment: After the storm passes we will be conducting a thourough assessment of the resort to address any damage and ensure the safety of our guests and staff before resuming normal operations.

🇺🇸💥🧨 Happy 4th of July! Be safe and have fun!

Myrtle Beach offers several great spots to watch fireworks on the Fourth of July. Here are some popular places to consider:

1. **Broadway at the Beach**: This popular shopping and entertainment complex hosts a fantastic fireworks display over Lake Broadway. The show usually starts at 10 PM.

2. **Second Avenue Pier**: Located at the southern end of the Boardwalk, this pier offers a great view of the fireworks. The display typically starts at 10 PM.

3. **Barefoot Landing**: Another great spot for fireworks, Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach hosts a fireworks show over the lake starting at 10 PM.

4. **Cherry Grove Pier**: For those in North Myrtle Beach, the Cherry Grove Pier is a great spot to catch the fireworks, which usually start at 9:30 PM.

5. **Murrells Inlet MarshWalk**: A bit south of Myrtle Beach, the MarshWalk in Murrells Inlet offers a unique setting to watch the fireworks, often starting at 10 PM.

These locations are popular, so arriving early to secure a good spot is recommended. Enjoy the show!
