Our ducks cannot be herded, they are followers. So Angelou does not usually help with them. Tonight she did. When I fed the animals in the little barn, they got out and I could not get them back in. I said, Angelou I need you to help. We divided and conquered to get them in. It is so nasty out, it would not have taken long for them to get sick or die. She is such a treasure. This is her recharging for tomorrow.

Goats, ewe, turkey, ducks and the majority of the chickens are up for the next two days. They have fresh bedding. I will be checking on them before and after work and providing tons of food and fresh water. It is just too cold and icy. There are a handful of chickens in the big barn. They have plenty of spots to cuddle. I got a load of hay today so the boys will have constant hay, their water tank is heated and they are getting grain. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we hunker down for the next couple days.

I am absolutely heartbroken. This was taken about 30 minutes ago. As I was unloading hay, me and the hay guy heard a commotion. We went to the back of the barn and one of the roosters had fallen on his head and died. His brothers were freaking out. 🥺 I have to go back out and see if it was Snoop or Flavor Flav. The twins are such fantastic roosters. I will miss him.

This is so true!!! Do you know how many ingredients are in the bagel recipe I make? 5 and one of those is water. I'm not going to lie. My homemade bagels taste SO much better.

Crimes committed by ducks today. That is an empty water tank Butterscotch 'scotchy' Kincaid is in. And none of them are supposed to be free ranging today. 🤦
