GENERAL INFO ABOUT COTTAGE RENTAL
Driving directions: The easiest is to do a map search (Mapquest, Google, etc) with our mailing address. When you get to Austin Road go to the end. You will see the Cottonwood Cove sign and stop sign. Go through the stop sign and turn down the first driveway on the right, you will see the lake and the cottages. If you'd prefer, we can send directions. Check-in: Usual check-in time is 3:00 pm on Saturday. Keys will be in the cottage – let yourself in. We will keep an eye out for you so that we can give you a tour of the property and amenities. Payment of the balance of the rent can be made at your convenience on the first day. Check-out: About 11:00 AM on the following Saturday. You are welcome to stay longer and use the lake and bathhouse, but we need to be able to get in the cottage to clean for the next guests. We ask that you try to leave the cottage in the condition that it was found and remove all trash before leaving. We do our own cleaning greatly appreciate your efforts. Parking: Is available for two cars between the cottages. No parking on grassy areas please. Extra cars and boat trailers should be parked near the field by the road. Please make sure the boat ramp is kept clear. Guests: Day guests are permitted as long as the total number of people does not exceed six. Guest dogs are not permitted. Occasional exceptions about extra day guests can be made with prior approval. Please let the guests know they should turn down the first driveway. There is a public park about ¼ mile from here which is more appropriate for large gatherings. Pets: Should be walked on a leash and cleaned up after. The field up by the road is a good place for them to “do their business”. Please make sure they are free of fleas. If they will be on the furniture please bring something to protect the couch, or a pet bed is preferred. Boats: The lake height varies greatly and the boat ramp may not be usable for all boat types. Please let us know if a mooring will be needed. Loading and unloading can be done at the dock, but no prolonged docking please. We can help with launching if needed. Row Boat, Canoe, Standup Paddleboards, Paddle boats & Kayaks: Please lift, not drag them to and from the water and wear a life vest (which are in the shed). Fishing: Is outstanding here and licenses are required. Tap water: Is from our well and is chemically treated. It is potable, but most people prefer bottled water for drinking. Wi-Fi: Is available in both cottages and supports streaming on ROKU TV in the 'Loft' cottage and streaming Blueray player in the 'Lake' cottage. Just a reminder that linens (sheets and towels) are not provided. The “lake cottage” has a full bed, two twins and a full futon. The “loft cottage” has a queen bed, two twins and a full sleeper couch. Also, consumables such as paper towels, toilet paper, garbage bags, etc. are not included. It is advisable to wear water shoes or sandals when using the lake because the shale and shells by shore can be sharp. Quiet time is after 10:00 PM. If you need anything during your stay, feel free to come to our house, which is next door. We hope you have a wonderful stay!!
