As I sit and reflect on what will be THE trip of 2024 for me, it’s hard to pick just one favorite moment. My mind is blown, memories made, & exceeded every expectation.

What an immense pleasure to sail on the Silver Dawn and feel like a VIP every moment. I had the privilege to dine with Captain Doroshenko who follows in his father’s footsteps. He is from Ukraine & thankfully, his family & extended family are safe. To have the 2 hours to sit and discuss his time with Silversea, his family, and what is involved in becoming a Captain was priceless. This was the ultimate surprise (even to my butler) when I received the invitation. Thank you to the team . You know who you are (so I won’t tag you to protect your anonymity) for helping me make this journey, taking such good care of my clients who have sailed with you before & showing me exactly why Silversea is my preferred luxury cruise partner. Dinner with the Captain is a gift I’ll cherish.

The beauty of the Baltics is indescribable; pictures just will never do it justice. This will not be my last cruise with Silversea (already pulled itineraries for 2025).

2023 was a turning point for Shoreline Destinations and I’ve spent the past few days celebrating, sharing good conversations and soaking in being in the company of inspiring leaders and agents who have a passion for travel.

I rarely post about the business on my personal page but Classic Vacations has held a special place for me since I began 11 years ago. Thank you Cindy Scherr-Zimlin for seeing the potential in me all of those years ago, I will always be grateful to you and thank you Classic Vacations for standing behind me.

The company continues to grow year over year and I attribute much of that growth to the fact that Ellen Nestorick has treated Shoreline Destinations as her own. She has helped me put processes in place to allow us to expand in the RIGHT way. Thank you Ellen for taking on way more than you had ever planned to and being available at all hours to talk strategies and entertain entirely too many ideas… normally all at the same time. Thank you Meredith Lanham & Sharon DeAndrea for handling all of our group reservations, making clients feel special, and doing what you do so well that I can focus on growing. I’m a bit of a control freak and you know that if I’ve let you run with things, that I trust you to do right by the business and our clients. I hope you know your dedication is not taken lightly.

Our team is made up of incredibly hard working, loyal women who not only love what they do, but love each other. That is the definition of a team and I’m thankful for each of them and what they bring to the table.

I don’t normally put much out there on my personal page but last night felt good and I wanted to at least, for a moment, to be proud of myself and share with anyone that took time to read this absurdly long post.

Thank you Melissa Thompson Krueger, Marilyn Cairo Classic, Marjorie Sherman and the rest of the dedicated team at Classic Vacations for giving us the opportunity to celebrate each other over the past few days and allow the top 25 to cheer each other on. I was totally taken off-guard this morning when I recieved the news (had NO IDEA) that I was a finalist for Playa Resorts (one of my faaaavorite brands). I didn’t attend the awards ceremony a few weeks ago and while part of me wishes I had known ahead of time, the other side of me is happy that I didn’t.

Why would I NOT want to know you ask?? Because to our clients, awards don’t matter. What matters is creating the best itineraries based on the parameters that are given & providing superior customer service. So I’ve tried to keep that mantra with me and not get caught up in these things b/c in the grand scheme of it all, these awards don’t matter.

However, I can’t say that I’m not proud as this is a first for me with this brand. While it’s my name listed, I know for a fact that I have 3 ladies on the team who have helped me earn this.

Ellen, you are the backbone of this company and the one who gets sh** DONE. You get me like very few do. I swear you are kinda my clone but a waaaayyyy better (and nicer) version.🩵

Sharon & Meredith, we could not handle the volume of destination weddings we do without you. It is you, getting all of the rooms reserved & answering so many of our wedding guests questions day in and day out, that have helped elevate us. You are an integral part of our destination wedding team and I do not take all the work you do behind-the-scenes for granted. 🩵🩵

It’s not all fun and games and the travel we take makes up for maybe 10% of it. The other 90% is a lot of really, really long days.

While I didn’t win, being a finalist for our 2023 production is an incredible honor…. And for those that know me, I have something to strive for in 2024 (yes, Ellen, that means more emails with ideas coming your way).

Wrapping up 4 days in DC learning, networking & celebrating! Travel Leaders Network is a powerhouse in the industry and represents more than 5,700 travel agencies across the United States and Canada. Sometimes I forget just how many travel agents & agencies there are and this served as a reminder that YOU have options! So it’s important for us to keep excelling and exceeding in our commitment to our clients and ourselves.

I know we all have takeaways from the event! For me, getting to network with suppliers and peers is always the highlight! Plus, it’s an added bonus when I get to do it with some of the ladies on the team!

Between dinners with & and one on ones with over 25 luxury suppliers, tourist boards & hoteliers, it was time well spent! Glad to have finally made it to EDGE after all these years!

Back to work and as excited as ever to grow the agency AND plan trips around the world.

Glad we could attend this conference together 🩵

With a company name of Shoreline Destinations, many assume that we only handle Caribbean + Mexico vacations. I think when I started the company 11 years ago, that was the vision I had. However, that didn’t last long as I realized people were looking to expand their travel experiences well beyond these destinations. So between a lot of training, meeting with hoteliers, suppliers, and traveling to these countries, there’s not many places we haven’t been that we consider ourselves experts!! If we personally haven’t been, we’ve definitely formed solid relationships with contacts in unique destinations around the world.

My recent river cruise offered me the opportunity to visit Switzerland for the 2nd time, France for the 3rd time, Germany, & the Netherlands. This summer I’m heading to Greece again & Croatia later in the summer. Hoping to squeeze London in for a third time as well!

We are all just getting back from our Rhine River cruise & after spending a week getting to know so many of Laurie Martz!s clients and friends, it’s easy to see why they love to travel as a group! Not only did I get to meet my clients that I’ve worked with for years, but to get to put faces to names with her clients who also work with me on individual trips.

To put faces with names and get to laugh with them, get to KNOW them, and build relationships with them was priceless. However, I must say, getting to spend time with Laurie & Jerry who gave me a shot 11 years ago had to be the most special gift for me. They are the kindest people and I am so thankful for the week to explore Europe with them.

53 of us sailed on AMA Serena and while there are always a few “hiccups” and “needs improvement”, I think everyone truly enjoyed just being together. People reunited with others they hadn’t seen since before COVID and new friendships were formed within our group.

We have closed out this year for groups as we already have a Viking Expedition group cruise in the fall. Excited for those sailing with Laurie on that one!!

In 2025, we will be back on AMA doing both a Tulip Time cruise and Xmas Markets cruise. We also have a group cruise on Celebrity Apex… their brand new ship in July 2025.

We are surveying the group on what they want in 2026. Spain/Portugal, US National Parks and the Baltics are all in the running… I think Galapagos would be a cool one too…post your comments here if there is a region/trip you are interested in for 2026. We will be gathering all responses here and our poll newsletter we are sending out early next week.

To all of you who were on this cruise, thank you for entrusting us in planning this group trip & giving river cruising a shot for the first time (many of you).

Last year represented INCREDIBLE growth for our agency. We have been recognized by many different brands throughout the industry for achieving top-tier levels with them. I don’t like to post a lot about these awards because I never want it to seem like we are bragging. I usually go out of my way to not mention a thing and prefer to just show up at events!! I also firmly believe our success is only as good as the clients we have supporting us and the great work we do for them.

However, I’m going to step out of the “norm” and say how excited we are to be invited to the first Star Awards since 2019 (Covid put a pause on awards events with the brand since then)!

The main reason that I am mentioning this one, is not because we are among the best of the best with the Sandals & Beaches brand, but because we have Anjli Patel: Travel Advisor with Shoreline Destinations representing our agency. It’s impossible for me to go to every event, and I knew this was one that we could not miss. Having a team is the most important thing to me & I want everyone to be recognized for their hard work. She has been with the agency for 7 years and is an incredible team leader!!!

Anjli will be in St. Vincent in three days and I cannot wait to see all her pictures, videos & feedback on this brand new Sandals resort!!!! Please follow along with us next week as she posts a ton of content from Star Awards. The resort is only open to us agents/agencies who were invited so this will be a “first look” for all of you!!!

Update From Today:

-They made an announcement on the ship overhead this morning that I was the only one doing the bike tour. I thought they were joking since word had spread that I was “that person” …Figured they were giving me a hard time.

-They were not joking and I had 3 escorts for the tour. Needless to say, I was not late getting back and they did not let me out if their sights 😂😂😂

Got to love a cruise line that wants to keep tabs on you😉 AmaWaterways has been incredible. What an amazing experience!!!

Wait until you see the pics from Rudesheim, Germany. It’s just gorgeous here. Everywhere I turn, I want to capture the moment. 🇩🇪

I came on this adventure for 2 reasons…

~To experience a river cruise myself as I’ve helped so many clients plan their own.

~We have a group occupying 1/3 of the ship & wanted to make sure everything was in order & everyone was enjoying themselves.

Fast-forward to my first bike tour today… it might just be my favorite way to see a city!!! has bike tours in almost every port of call & I am SO glad I signed up for a bunch of them during this trip!!

After the bike tour they gave us 1.25 hours to explore on our own while they watched the bikes.

Did I come back on time? NO

Did I expect to be the only one late? NO

Was everyone gone except for 1 guide & 1 lonely bike? YES

Was I late by 7 min? DUH (is that even late????)

Did I get a dirty look from the tour guide who had to stay back until I was “located”? YES

Did I buy Christmas ornaments + take a ridiculous amount of pics & videos? YES

Did they have to radio ahead to the other guide that they “found” me? YES

Did I earn myself the reputation of being “the travel agent” that got left? YES

… All of this to say, those who know me know if I’m not on time, that means I’m loving whatever I’m doing. Strasbourg got me… it’s gorgeous and all of the things I envisioned on a European River Cruise!!! You MUST visit (and get lost in the beauty of it all)❤️🥖🥨 🏞️
