Vacations look a little different these days 🏖️. I have done a lot of trave adventures in my earlier days ✈️🧳. With a little one and another on the way I find simple is better. I work to simplify my home, career and business consistently but one of the most influential motivators to reevaluate my priorities is bringing a child 👩🏽‍🍼into the world. This is a big transition-physically, emotionally and mentally 🎢. How have you adapted to major life changes and what did you learn along the way?

You don’t need a new calendar 🗓️ year, fancy degree 🎓, or a list of new habits to create the version of yourself you have been longing for. They don’t hurt but they aren’t the secret sauce 🥫. Ask me how I know 🤓. I truly believe 𝗚𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗬 𝓲𝓼 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓝𝓮𝔀 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗬 because I have seen how GRIT and a very strong WHY can increase women’s vibration while opening up opportunities to thrive🙌🏽.

I have lived life on a plateau with no vision for my future. Out of tragedy and grief I became a leader, mountain climber, small biz owner, non-profit president , and certified change practitioner all while leveling up at an accelerated rate in a large male dominated military industrial organization. With a strong “WHY” I leveled 🆙 to level out ⤴️of a very niche career and now have the job satisfaction and the work life balance I could have only dreamed off✨

My passion is to empower other women in their professional development and life journey. As the year comes to an end we often celebrate all that we accomplished and I am a big supporter of women highlighting their achievements 🏆. I also want to normalize a few common themes that have come up in the 🎙️𝗚𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗬 𝓲𝓼 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓝𝓮𝔀 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗬 𝗣𝗼𝗱𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁 🎧that really resonate with me right now. Specifically, in episode 16 and I discuss the seasons of life and how it can look different each year while priories shift and life happens. In episode 17 with we discuss giving yourself grace, as a high achieving woman giving myself grace during the different seasons of life can be challenging! It’s ok if this year you were simply surviving or recharging. I feel you! ✨

I had hopes to re-start GCW memberships in 2025 and even began looking for event spaces and socializing this with the community. Things changed when I found out I was expecting my second child 🤰🏽❤️✨. It’s wild and symptoms have hit me like a wrecking ball. I don’t even have a cute pregnancy pic or announcement 😂🤷🏽‍♀️.

I am so grateful for this community and my AMAZING podcast guests for sharing such great insights that myself and others can reflect on. For now memberships will be on hold while I focus on health and adding a new addition to the family!

💨 It’s been an interesting few months for me and I had to take a little break from recording new episodes of Gritty is the New Pretty 🎙️🎧. I’ll share more in a few weeks but for now stay Gritty!

10 years ago I lost my best friend in an avalanche. She was an incredible human, beautiful inside and out. She was breaking down barriers for women in the mountains 🏔️🧗‍♀️ as a guide and professional splitboarder. She was the first snowboarder ever inducted into the hall of fame 🏂. A group of friends came up with an idea to build a climbing wall in her honor. In 2 years we raised 150k - a goal no one thought we would reach. On the 10 year anniversary of her death I can say that the construction of the wall has begun in the New Pearl Street Family YMCA ( ). My journey with consisted of marketing, fundraising, event planning and applying for nonprofit status. We had an amazing team of friends and I yearned for a space where I could find guidance and mentorship. That is why I founded Grit City Women. In fall 2025 the wall will be completed, part climbing wall and part memorial where youth and families can reach new peaks for years to come✨
