Last Saturday was Spring skiing at Squaw amongst swimsuits and shorts. This Saturday was hilltop happy hours, outdoor grilling and paddle time on the Lake. Despite snow in the forecast for Monday, the season has shifted my friends.

Our Chapel By The Lake

Our venture here on Chapel Lane started in the Fall of 2018 when we stumbled upon a perfect spot to enjoy in the Sierras. A mile from the beach and headwaters of the Truckee River, closer to trails, a short drive to the Alpine, Squaw and Homewood resorts, this would be our launching pad for countless adventures with friends and family. Compounding our value here in Tahoe City was Heather’s family history of having access to a cabin nearby from which she and her sisters all learned to ski, spent many wonderful Summer days, and then exposed the niece and nephews to the same experiences. We now hope to do the same with our own four year old, and his and our friends, and his cousins, and then on, but from our own place this time.

While we love it dearly we cannot be here all the time so for a while its also a rental house which you may come and enjoy much as we do. You’ll find it outfitted with comforts and toys we love to share, a gourmet’s kitchen, bikes in the garage, a kids playhouse closet under the stairs, books, games, snow toys and if you can find it, a remote control for the deck lights. Ambiance. And happy hour and sunrises on the deck are just amazing. But more than all that other stuff, its a wonderful place in a woods, close to but not on the highway, close to but not in town, and deeply immersed in all of Tahoe’s finest.
