Happy to report 3 things about last weekend's RETURN of the Tally Brew Bus, which took a group of 30 to the Panacea Beer and Oyster Festival 🦪 🍺 - marking our first trip in 2 years!:

1. We had a BLAST. Great group. Great music 🎶 on the bus. And we drank some great beers on the way up and back. 😋

2. Everyone got home safe. 💪🏻

2. On our way BACK to meet the bus after the fest, guess who we ran into??? None other than Florida Senator Loranne Ausley! And guess what she did??? She took our group photo! 📸 And then guess what she did? She turned the camera on herself and took a selfie with us! 🤳 😁🥰 🇺🇸

Such an awesome way to end a fun day!

Our next trip will be in early May when we start our once-a-month tours to places like the Forgotten Coast, Sopchoppy, Blountstown, Lake City & Campbellton! Stay tuned for details on that soon!

Ok, North Florida and South Georgia ... now that Big Bend Brewfest is complete, time to turn our attention to the NEXT fest on the calendar for : The Panacea Beer and Oyster Festival!

It all goes down THIS Saturday - March 26th - from 12-4 pm at Wooley Park in Panacea. (12 pm is the Early Entry/VIP time and General Admission begins at 1 pm.)

This photo is a look at all the breweries that are pouring - not including a half dozen local home brewers taking part - and the cost of tickets are as follows:

IMPORTANT NOTE: You cannot buy tickets for this event AT the gate or on the day of. We cannot stress this enough: If you don't purchase ahead of time, you're gonna be SOL. For real.

The reason being is the oyster farmers and breweries in attendance need to be able to plan for how many oysters and how much beer to bring, so the festival - which is a combination of Brews By The Bay and the Panacea Oyster Festival - had to set an attendance capacity this year.

Hope our has been doing well!

Sorry for the lack of updates over the last few months, but with the Brew Bus grounded since our last trip March 7 to the SGI Chili Cook-Off -- and the world as we know it changing drastically a week later -- there hasn't been much to report.

However, hopefully you read the part in the Tallahassee Beer Society's latest column about how the Tally Brew Bus WILL be back.

We just need to ensure two things before we resume operations:

1) It's safe for all parties involved -- guests, driver and businesses, and ...
2) Florida breweries are once again fully reopen -- with no sign of being shut back down.

In the meantime, happy birthday to the TLH Beer Society -- and ! 🚌🎉🍻

We wanted our awesome craft beer scene to give those living here a sense of pride, and those who had moved away something exciting to come home to.

We can confirm these One Fresh Pillow are A-MAY-ZING.

On the trip to Gainesville late last year for the FSU-UF game, they gave all riders travel pillows and sleep masks in their Brew Bus bags.

And after that performance by the FSU football team, our Seminole riders needed them on the way home! 😂😂😂😔

The Big Bend Brewfest in Perry, Fla., is ready for Year 3, and we hope you're ready to head over with us on the Tally Brew Bus and sample over 100 different craft beers from around Florida and the nation!

This event features live music, award-winning food trucks and unlimited samples of local, regional and national craft beer brands. Confirmed locals that will be pouring include Proof Brewing Company, Oyster City Brewing Company, Lake Tribe Brewing Company, Fools Fire Brewing Company, Halpatter Brewing Company and Salty Oak Brewing Co.

On Dec. 28, 2019, we took the BIGGEST group in Tally Brew Bus history down to the Forgotten Coast for a day of sun, fun, brews and carefree relaxation! There were 45 people in all, and being able to all ride together led to a great vibe, lots of singing and dancing, and countless friendships formed. (Shoutout to our friends at Tomahawk Transportation for the GREAT bus! )

🚨NEW TRIP ALERT!: 38th Annual St George Island Charity Chili Cookoff 🚨

The St. George Island Chili Cook-Off is one of the most ICONIC festivals in all of North Florida.

And this year, the Tallahassee Brew Bus is going to take you there -- with a brewery stop along the way!

That's right, on Saturday, March 7th, the Tallahassee Brew Bus is - for the FIRST TIME EVER -- taking a tour to the 38th Annual SGI Chili Cook-Off, where the chili will be off the charts, the live music will be amazing, and the Oyster City Brewing Company beer will be ice cold.

This is the biggest annual fundraiser every year for the St. George Island Volunteer Fire Department and the money raised over the years is well over six figures. And we can't wait to bring a big group down to help out.

But we aren't just going to be giving you VIP drop-off service at the front gates of the Chili Cook-Off.

Oh, no, no, no ...

We've got a brewery stopped planned as well! (It wouldn't be a "Brew Bus" trip without a visit to one of our area's fine craft breweries, after all!).

Because the Chili Cook-Off starts around 11 a.m. on March 7, we're going to hustle to get you from Tallahassee to the event right on time. Then, after a few hours -- and a dozen or so samples of chili and a few OCBC brews later -- we're going to load up, head across the SGI bridge and stop by our friends at Eastpoint Beer Company on the way home!

Soooooo ... thanks to , we found ourselves a intern recently. But unlike our (semi-fictional) intern "Daisy" (again, not her real name 😆), this one is ACTUALLY real!
Meet - a bright, talented, hard-working senior communications major at . And last week she absolutely CRUSHED her first event for us during at . After feeling a bit nervous when she showed up that night, she left feeling like a TLH Beer Society baller 🏀. Mackenzie owned the mic 🎤, won over the crowd 🍻, and entertained and engaged folks all night during the prize giveaways. 🙌
We met Mackenzie - who serves as Vice President of the FPRA Student Chapter - at their recent "intern job fair" at that brought together well-known local organizations and businesses who were seeking some eager and energetic help.
Mackenzie has been all that for us -- and more! 💪
She B-lined to our table that night of the job fair and expressed a ton of interest in what we were doing to help raise the visibility of the scene in our area. Then she followed up with an email that SAME evening to reiterate her interest. That meant a lot to us, so we added her to the team!
Since then, Mackenzie has helped us with graphic design, assisted in running our social media accounts (including TLHBS, the and upping our Insta-story game on both) -- and as of last Thursday, she can now add "live promotions" to her growing resume'. And be sure to look for her at future events that we are involved in, like this weekend's , the Feb. 1st Brews By The Bay festival and then on April 18th.
We can't thank Mackenzie enough for her help, and when she graduates in May, our loss will 💯% be a communication firm's gain!

The 2nd Annual Brews by the Bay Craft Beer Festival -- Wakulla County's first and only craft beer festival -- is back at Wooley Park in Panacea and once again benefiting the Florida Wild Mammal Association! It goes down Feb. 1st from 2-5 from General Admission ($25) and 1-5 pm for VIP ($50).
Last year, the event was SO popular in its first go 'round, they sold twice the amount of tickets they expected and nearly ran our of beer! And this year, we're bringing people from Tallahassee and Wakulla to join in the fun of unlimited sampling, fresh seafood and live music RIGHT on the water.

There will be over 20 breweries from around the area on site pouring their beer, not to mention a new "homebrewer" element they're tossing in this year with a half-dozen homebrewers from the North Florida Brewers League on site serving up their handcrafted recipes for craft beer fans to enjoy.
We'll depart from Growler Country at 1 p.m. that day and arrive just before the festival kicks off at 2 p.m., then return to Tallahassee by 6 p.m. that evening. This is gonna be a fun day, a fun trip and a fun festival. Hope you'll join us!

Take a walk down memory lane of ALL the big stories on the local beer scene in 2019.

We hope 2020 is just as big for all the area breweries -- and for us as we make plans to visit 'em all!

While Tallahassee did lose one of our more established breweries with the closing of GrassLands Brewing, 2019 featured a ton of great moments.
