Let’s talk about views. This is a post by another travel agent in a group on FB. You see the room description but you can also see the picture the client sent.
The hotel is a large national chain and they are claiming this is the correct room category. Why?!
Because Oceanview means only that you will see some part of the ocean. We can’t see what is above the trees and the client is not providing a picture above the trees, but you may be able to see some of the ocean. And it might be a panoramic view as described. Sometimes when you go to a resort and pay for oceanview, you will be on the side of the building and if you lean out over the balcony, you will see a sliver of the ocean.
Oceanfront is also another room category that frequently upsets people. Oceanfront doesn’t necessarily mean ocean view. It means close to the ocean front so there may be no view other than a beach with a bunch of bushes in front of it. There’s no view, but you can walk right onto the beach.
If the room location and view is important to you, let us know. We can pull recent pictures and verify.
Nothing is foolproof though! I’ve had clients at a Sandals resort in the Bahamas with a beautiful view, but when you looked down from the balcony, there was construction at a nearby piece of property, causing all sorts of noise. It was the proper room category and it was the proper view. But we don’t have any control over the surrounding area. The client thought it was funny because she got to listen to the Bahamians yell at each other! 😜😬🤷♀️

5 - AWESOME! Exceeded expectations
How did you like your resort/hotel (room, staff, restaurants, quality of service)?
The Hotel Ampère was an exquisite little gem located in the heart of a local bustling area of Paris. The staff was very accommodating, fluent in English, and there to help meet your every need and answer any questions in a friendly manner!
What were some of your favorite experiences and activities?
We booked 6 tours with the Get Your Guide App/tour service. We took a Christmas Eve city bus tour, a tour of the Catacombs, a Seine River Lunch cruise, a Louvre museum immersive tour, Hop on/Hop off bus tour to iconic Parisian sites, and a 2nd floor/summit access tour to the Eiffel Tower. Unfortunately the Eiffel Tower tour got canceled due to weather conditions, which was beyond everyone’s control. Our favorite thing to do each evening was sit at a local restaurant on the circle near our hotel. The circle had 9 entrances and exits to it, and it was fascinating to watch the cars, buses, bikers, and pedestrians navigate their way through the maze around the circle! We enjoyed drinks there every night after our daily activities. Our hotel was situated in the perfect spot within walking or Uber distance to everything Paris!!
Is there anything you wish you would have done differently? Please explain.
No! We had the perfect travel agent, perfect accommodations, and the BEST daily tour experiences.
What recommendations or tips would you have for future travelers?
Follow your travel agent’s tips, and tricks! Veronica suggested we take a long small tokens of appreciation to give to tour bus operators, waiters, hotel, staff, etc. We took a long magnets of our home state, Georgia. This small token of appreciation got us a back of the house pass to meet a Michelin star chef at the Versailles Palace at Gordon Ramsey’s Restaurant and a tour the kitchen! Plan everything! We saw so many couples and families get turned away from tourist sites because they didn’t have reservations! Riding in the taxis was fun, but Uber definitely RULES in Paris! They are fast, friendly and efficient and the majority of the drivers speak English! They also seemed to be cheaper and took the shortest routes. I would not recommend a Paris trip with small children! We saw too many couples, struggling to corral children, strollers, and the city streets. Make sure you have your phone set up ahead of time for international data, calls, and text! We used Google Fi. It was affordable, worked great, and helped us navigate the city streets while using Google Maps every day. The biggest tip I would give
future travelers, would be to ask your hotel for a business card. So, every time you get in an Uber or taxi, you can hand them the card and they know where to take you!! The language barrier can be a bit of a problem sometimes.

If you’re traveling to Paris, use Veronica to make your reservations, and transfer arrangements! Plan everything ahead of time. Do your research, and leave some free time to go explore on your own. Our 6 days was the perfect amount of time to do everything in Paris!
