Insider tip --Take advantage of this adult only pool at the Barcelo Maya Palace. We were staying at the Barcelo Maya Riviera adults only resort but we always enjoy spending a day up at Barcelo Maya Palace. Go early and rent a covered palapa. It is a $15 room charge for the day. We enjoyed excellent poolside service and listening to the beautiful birds sing.

We are super excited about these new build resorts opening this summer-- Secrets and Dreams Playa Esmeralda. The resorts are built on Miches beach located on the north coast of Dominican Republic. This location is perfect for viewing the migration of humpback whales between January and March. Leatherhead turtles also nest in this area late spring to summer. We can't wait to visit this up-and-coming location in Dominican Republic. 
Secrets guest will have full access to the Dreams resort next door however Dreams guest will not be able to visit Secrets. This resort will be a nice option for multigenerational families offering adult only and family accommodations.

Here's a few pics from the past several days. We are staying at the Barcelo Maya Riviera adult only resort but I couldn't help but take a nice long walk to the other end of the property visiting the family friendly resorts. The landscape is so beautiful and I have so many fond memories of vacations spent with my family at Barcelo Maya Palace.
