Finally met the amazing owners of Abiquiú Dome for their last Hokiday Festivities 🎄 They open again in May and we will explore opportunities of working together on our Abiquiu Day Tours 🌶

Constructed in 2006, the structure was completed in 10 days by students and friends of the Arches, Domes & Vaults class of Northern New Mexico College in El Rito, NM, under the direction of Professor Quentin Wilson. He was inspired to recreate the same architectural process first used at Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, Turkey over 1500 years ago.

Kateri Tekakwitha in front of the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi wrapped in a blanket of white 🤍❄️

Known as the Lily of the Mohawks, St. Kateri was born in 1656 at the Indian village of Osserneon in Auriesville, New York. She died in upstate New York in 1680. Three hundred years later in 1980 Pope John Paul II had her canonized a saint. The statue of St. Kateri in front of St. Francis Cathedral became a part of the church in 2002. The artist who created the work of art is the artist Estella Loretto of Jemez Pueblo.

Newsletter Announcement 📢 Culture of Colors 🎨✂️🧵🍂

Fall is for... FEELS! And boy are we feeling it this year. Summer flew by, and we are just getting started getting out to explore the vast richness of northern New Mexico. The colors are peeking now — and about to peak — a little early even this year it seems! Plentiful waters have filled our fields with flowers... how lucky we are that they are still blooming as the leaves put on their own show to send us into the cooler months surrounded by warm hues in the softest of shades. 

It should be no surprise that this issue of Field Guide celebrates our colorful woven journeys that embrace time and tradition.

We wind up the iconic High Road to Taos from Santa Fe to commune with the wool smiths of Chimayo, partake of their precious wares and meet the next generation of weavers keeping the craft alive and holding space for it to be preserved and continue to thrive. I can't explain how powerful a trip on the High Road is for a traveler. It truly, deeply plucks all the string cords of the heart and soul.

Lovely walk around historical Santa Fe with the BEST guide!

Our guide, Sandra, was incredible. Her wealth of knowledge and way of delivering tidbits without being overwhelming was very well done! She provided a historical backdrop of Santa Fe’s origins which played into every building we saw. It truly gave us a deeper appreciation of what we were seeing. She also read our energy and gave us places to sit in the shade while she continued telling her story so we were able to cover ground without getting tired. A very pleasant person to spend a morning in Santa Fe with! Highly recommend!!
