Exciting news! We recieved a grant to build a beautiful digital history project for Spencer County, celebrating America250. This funding is coming from the Kentucky Historical Society! We are so grateful and even more excited to get started on this project!

The spirit of collaboration truly shines bright in Taylorsville as the wonderful folks from Spencer County, the City of Taylorsville, and our dedicated Tourism team joined forces to create a festive masterpiece right in front of the Spencer County Courthouse. This heartwarming project brought together various departments, all committed to keeping our community clean, sanitized, beautiful, and safe, to decorate our beautiful Christmas tree. A special thanks to Scott Travis for leading this delightful initiative and for the delicious hot chocolate that warmed our hearts! With heartfelt thanks to Joe, Karen, Jonathan, Spanky, Andrew, Dan, Joseph, Steven, Bev, and Timmy who brought their most festive A-Game to the decor. There were also so many more people that were involved installing, selecting, and even donating the tree!
This community project exemplifies the essence of Southern holiday hospitality and we invite you to this holiday season to bask in the festive atmosphere and experience our unique charm firsthand. We encourage everyone to share their own holiday memories in Taylorsville, fostering a sense of connection and camaraderie among our cherished locals and visitors alike!
