We tried the Peachtree Street Grill today. It was incredibly good! Great food, nice atmosphere… A must try!

Pet policy: Dogs 50 lbs or less are allowed. Maximum 2 dogs only. NO CATS

The cabin is very small and can not accommodate more than 2 dogs. We can not allow cats because many people are severely allergic including our housekeeper.

We are flexible at times; however, the pet policy has not been followed several times in 2023 already.

See the leaves this fall by train ride through the famous hiwassee loop.

From the website: Enjoy a 50-mile roundtrip through the beautiful lower Hiwassee River gorge. This 5-hour round trip takes you to the top of the famous Hiwassee Loop, where the tracks cross over themselves as they corkscrew up the mountain near Farner, Tennessee. There are only 6 of these loops in North America and this is the only one ever East of the Mississippi River. There is no layover on this excursion so you will be on the train for the duration of the trip.

The railroad over which Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum trains travel on its Hiwassee River Rail Adventures was formerly part of the Louisville and Nashville Railroad’s Atlanta Division stretching between Etowah, Tennessee, and Marietta, Georgia.

Hiwassee Loop trips are on Fridays and Sundays.

Chilhowee Gliderport, Benton, TN - Experience the thrill of motorless flight along the Appalachian Mountains and Tennessee Valley, admire the Hiwassee and Ocoee Rivers from the air as you go up like a hawk. On some days you can fly the ridgeline at awesome speeds, other times you can take hold of the controls with your pilot and feel what it is like to fly a glider through the various air currents that sustain free flight. These are all the joys of soaring at the Chilhowee Gliderport. Since 1973 the Chilhowee Gliderport has offered rides, instruction, and towing. It is a great place to come spend the day watching the beauty of soaring flight, take a ride in a glider, or watch as glider pilots from around the world make this a start point for a long cross-country flight. The powerful towplanes can tow most any type of glider year round and rides are provided by FAA certified glider flight instructors. If you have the particular bug to learn to fly gliders, ask us about primary glider instruction for the new pilot or transition training for the current power pilot. Chilhowee is open year round.
