Our meetings often showcase various vendors and suppliers who are eager to present what they have to offer. Our tradition of giving to those less fortunate continues with our ongoing community outreach programs. Our outreach have included giving holiday food baskets to area needy families and support of God’s Little Angels which adopts and cares for Haitian orphans.

TPOC NCAC had an enjoyable outing visiting with our longtime partners at Salamander DC.

Prominently located along the capital’s vibrant Southwest waterfront, Salamander Washington DC is a short walk from the nation’s most cherished monuments and the exciting attractions and restaurants in the new District Wharf area. The elegant hotel features beautifully designed rooms, spacious suites, Washington, D.C.’s finest spa, and some of the city’s largest meeting and event spaces.

Stay tuned for additional renovations in 2024 that will include a two-story spa and the launch of a new restaurant with Chef Kwame Onwuachi. In 2019, Chef Kwame was acclaimed by Esquire as its Chef of the Year, recognized by Food & Wine as one of its Best New Chefs, and named by the James Beard Foundation as "Rising Star Chef of the Year.”

Announcing TPOC Miracle Globe Recipient

Greenwood Rising is the 2023 recipient of the $1,000 TPOC Miracle Globe Donation. Pictured Raymond Doswell, Ed.D., Executive Director for Greenwood Rising.

TPOC Miracle Globe is a non-profit, 501(c)3, tax exempt foundation that supports many worthy causes.

Greenwood Rising tells the remarkable and resilient story of the Greenwood community by bringing the story to Tulsa’s Black Wall Street to life.

Greenwood Rising, which is dedicated to educating the public about the Tulsa Race Massacre, utilizes history, technology, and interactive design to open challenging conversations about the tragedy while educating visitors on Black history and the heritage of historically Black North Tulsa and the Greenwood District.

Explore the early placemaking of Greenwood — how and why the African American community came to this place, the struggles they faced, and the ways in which they succeeded in building this vibrant and wealthy community, even in the face of systemic racial oppression.

Bank of America has announced that Greenwood Rising has joined its Museums on Us program. During the first full weekend of each month, Bank of America cardholders may now access the Greenwood Rising history center for free.

Donations to the TPOC Miracle Globe can be made at https://tpocassociation.com/tpocmiracleglobe/

TPOC Celebrating Black History Month and remembering the enslave of Pres. George Washington.
“I never mean (unless some particular circumstance should compel me to it) to possess another slave by purchase: it being among my first wishes to see some plan adopted by the legislature by which slavery in the Country may be abolished by slow, sure, & imperceptible degrees.”
-GEORGE WASHINGTON, 1786

When he drafted his will at age 67, George Washington included a provision that would free the 123 enslaved people he owned outright.
