On this day in 1963, the 35th President of the United States, John F. Kennedy, was assassinated as he rode in a motorcade through Dealey Plaza in downtown Dallas, Texas.

As we remember the tragic event that forever changed the course of American history, we also celebrate the life and legacy of the charismatic leader whose life was cut short.

Texas offers several wonderful memorials to JFK such as the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, the John F. Kennedy Memorial Plaza, and the JFK Memorial Statue in Fort Worth to name a few.

The last deathless day on Texas roads was November 7th, 2000. Texas is on a mission to end the streak of deaths on Texas roadways. This goal is big, but it’s possible.

You can do your part by practicing safe driving habits like always wearing your seatbelt, avoiding distracted driving, and staying alert on the road.
