First Friday is almost here!

Downtown The Dalles is gearing up for the Annual Chocolate Crawl on Friday, February 7th, from 4–7 PM! Visitors can stroll through their favorite local shops, enjoy delicious chocolate treats, and discover great Valentine’s gifts along the way.

It’s the perfect way to kick off the month of love while supporting local businesses!

It's about to be that time of the month again ladies and gents!

The February meeting for the Columbia River Bassmasters will be happening next Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Who Song and Larry's located at 111 SE Columbia Way in Vancouver, right on the waterfront of the club's namesake.

For those who can make it, we encourage you to come socialize and enjoy some drinks and food with us starting at 6:00 PM. It's a good opportunity to meet some great people and get an idea of what we are about.

We'll then mosey our way upstairs at 7:00 PM for the monthly club meeting. Last meeting we had some new faces who ended up joining the club, and we'd love to have more.

We're excited about the coming season. We've got a great tournament schedule for 2025 and we're looking forward to having another great year!

Bull of the Woods fire lookout in Mt. Hood National Forest was scheduled for restoration when it was consumed by wildfire in 2021. Lookout towers will be featured in the first Regional History Forum program at the Original Wasco County Courthouse Saturday, Feb. 1.

Barbara Telfer of The Dalles spent three summers staffing lookouts, and Rick McClure of Trout Lake was a Forest Service archaeologist, and in retirement, serves on an organization that preserves and protects remaining lookouts. “Fire Lookouts: Personal Reflections, History, and Preservation” is title of the program that begins at 1:30 p.m. in the courtroom of the 1859 Courthouse, located at 410 W. 2nd Place, The Dalles.
