The Jacqueline Cochran Award of Excellence, an employee recognition award, is named in honor of aviation legend Jacqueline Cochran and awarded to a Desert Jet employee nominated by their peers for displaying exemplary traits in performance, service to others, and commitment to safety.

Angel Flight West also receives a donation from Desert Jet on behalf of every award recipient to fund a flight for #AFW passengers like Jennifer from Wenatchee, Washington, who needs to reach life-saving treatment weekly at a cancer treatment center, a grueling three hours away, to fight ovarian cancer.
Thanks to the dedicated volunteer pilots of AFW, who generously donate their time, talents, resources, and planes for each flight, Jennifer can access the healthcare she needs without expending her energy on arranging transportation, allowing her to focus on her battle with cancer.
"It makes my treatment more doable," Jennifer gratefully said. "Their kind hearts and willingness to give bring me so much joy."

Desert Jet: Job Shadowing Program to Inspire the Next Generation of Aviation Professionals
We wrapped up another year of our job shadowing program with students from the Desert Mirage High School Aviation program!
This year, we had the largest group yet, with ten high school seniors joining us. They got to experience hands-on learning with our aircraft maintenance and FBO team members.
The students also had a blast visiting the CHP Border Division Air Operations and participating in the fun, welcoming events we hosted for travelers flying into Desert Jet Center for the Coachella Valley music festivals.
